Grand Falls, Arizona - wonder of the world
Please watch: Foldex - medium body, short neck
--~--
Grand Falls is a natural waterfall system located 30 miles (48.3 kilometers) northeast of Flagstaff, Arizona in the Painted Desert on the Navajo Nation.
At 185 feet (56 meters) tall, it is taller than Niagara Falls. It dumps snowmelt or monsoon rain into the Little Colorado River below. It is known for its extremely muddy flow, which is a major contributor to Little Colorado River opacity. Heavy rains or snowmelt will produce spectacular viewing, photography, and sound whereas the scarcity of water will produce only trickles or no flow at all.
Grand Falls was formed when lava from nearby Merriam Crater flowed into the Little Colorado River creating a lava dam. The river was forced to reroute itself around the dam and Grand Falls formed where the river rejoins its original course.

Arizona Roadtrip 2018
INFO ABOUT TRIP IN DESCRIPTION:
MUSIC: Cleopatra by The Lumineers (I do not own the music)
DESTINATIONS: We went to Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell, and Grand Canyon
TOURS: You have to have a tour guide for Antelope Canyon since it is on Navajo land. We chose the Antelope Slot Tours ($68/person) Our tour guide was Irene and she was the best! she helped take beautiful photos. You do not need to be on a tour for Horseshoe Bend (free), Lake Powell (free), or Grand Canyon. However, since the Grand Canyon is a national park the entrance fee is $30 (per vehicle) and the pass can be used up to seven days.
TOTAL COST TO VIEW LANDMARKS: $83/ person or $166 for two people
HOTELS: you can find hotels all over Page, AZ (where antelope canyon, horseshoe bend, and lake powell are located). Grand Canyon is a two-hour drive from Page AZ.
EXTRA INFO: From Southern California, the drive took 8 hours to get to Page, AZ. On our last day, we drove to the Grand Canyon and then (not shown in the video) we drove another 4 hours to Las Vegas so we didn't have to drive the full 8 hours back home in one day.
If you've read this far, the trip is 100% worth it! It's family friendly and a great idea for a road trip or if you fly in, it is still a great trip. I highly recommend visiting all of these beautiful landmarks! Definitely, something to cross off my bucket list!
