Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands Palm Beach County Florida
The Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands is a bird watcher's paradise in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Green Cay Wetlands (or Green Cay Wetlands and Nature Center) is a nature preserve located in Boynton Beach, Florida. The 100-acre (0.40 km2) property was purchased in 1999 from Ted and Trudy Winsberg, who used the property for farming. The Winsbergs sold the property for 1/3 of its appraised value with the condition that it would be made into a wetland. Construction began in July 2003. It was created jointly by the Palm Beach County Utilities Department and the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department in 2004. This park includes 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of elevated boardwalk, which takes visitors through various habitats, including cabbage palm hammock, cypress swamp, wetland hammock, and tropical hardwood hammock. The boardwalk also features a Seminole chickee hut as well as several gazebos, which have descriptive signs offering information on the wildlife and plant life.
The Nature Center showcases exhibits on the water cycle as well as a turtle pond, frog terrarium, American alligator hole with young live alligators, and a wetland diorama. There is also a theater, gift shop, and an exhibition hall inside.
The park is a water reclamation facility, and naturally filters millions of gallons of water each day.

The city and/or county have done a wonderful job in setting up a beautiful boardwalk through the preserve and a nature center. It was a fun, casual time to just get away from the craziness of the city. Beautiful place, great company…certainly worth a visit for anyone.
I was able to secure this video with my new Sony 4K video camera. NICE!
Birds of Green Cay Wetlands
A collection of bird photographs I have taken from Green Cay Wetlands in Delray Beach, Florida. Green is an amazing location for photographers and nature enthusiasts. Hundreds of species of birds, and a spectacular South Florida backdrop. There is a boardwalk that circumnavigates the area. The soundtrack is a small piece of piano music I put together called 'Homecoming'.

A video/photo compilation I made of my 1st visit to the Green Cay Wetlands in Boynton Beach, FL.
Sorry about the slight wind noise in parts as it was very windy and I did not have an external mic with a wind guard and I did not want to mute the sound and lose the beautiful sounds of nature. This was late in the day until sunset. My next trip will be sunrise :O)
I hope you enjoy this. Share it with your friends if you do!
