Travel: GudiBande Fort Chikkaballapur 20180519
An ancient fort located in the outskirts of Bangalore, good place for people who love trekking. It offers pretty decent climb
Gudibanda is a place in Chikkaballapur district. There is a big grand lake that welcomes you to the small town. The lake is such an attraction. A few kilometers from there is the fort. You need to climb up, may be a killometer+. There are well built steps. The path and the rocks provide beautiful view, especially on top of the fort. There is a small temple at the peak, which was closed when we visited.
We visited on 19-05-2018.

A trip to Gudibande Fort and Dandiganahalli Dam.
Gundibande Fort is a 17th century fort built by Byre Gowda. It's said to be a replica of Madhugiri Fort. It has seven levels with a lot of escape routes. On top there is a Shiva temple which was closed when I visited.
Once you trek for an hour you'll the top of the fort and you get to see the complete view of Gundibande town and also the Byrasagara reservoir or Gudibande lake.
It's an off beat place and its just 90km from Bangalore and you can visit Avalbetta or Dandiganahalli Dam along with this fort.
I left for the fort at around 5 in the morning. Reached there by 6.45 and I took 45 mins to climb and I was the only one who was present along with some monkeys. Sat there for few mins and then headed back. While coming back I explored many escape routes which are present. All in all its a good place to explore and spend a quiet weekend.
Here is a short video of my trip shot on the Gopro Hero 4.
