Nandi Hills or Nandi betta (Anglicised forms include Nandidrug and Nandydroog) is an ancient hill fortress in southern India, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from the city of Bengaluru. The hills are nestled near the town of Nandi. In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy river.

Bhoga Nandeeshwara (Bhoganandishwara) Temple is located at the base of Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state, India. Distance of the temple is around 60 km from Bangalore and great idea for a day trip.
Bhoga Nandishwara is an ancient temple dedicated to the Hindu Lord Shiva, his consort Parvati and Nandi. It is one of the oldest temples of Karnataka, built early 9th century. The Bhoga Nandisvara Temple is protected as a monument of national importance by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Chikkaballapura is the district headquarters of the newly created Chikkaballapura district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is located within 3 km of Muddenahalli (the birthplace of eminent engineer and statesman Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya). Furthermore, the noted Traveler Bunglow is being converted into a state of the art Bus terminus. A new District Government Headquarters and police headquarters is being constructed at a cost of $5 million. In addition, the state government is releasing over $10 million to develop the city and expand underground sanitary systems. It is a regional transport and educational hub, and is a major site for grape, grain, and silk cultivation. With recent development, it is widely believed that Chikkaballapura will become part of Greater Bangalore.

Chennagiri Chikkaballapura or Chandragiri Hills Chikkaballapur ಚಂದ್ರಗಿರಿ Karnataka tourism
Chennagiri Chikkaballapura also known as Chandragiri Hills ಚಂದ್ರಗಿರಿ is located at Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru, Bangalore tourism Karnataka tourism. Chennagiri is a part of a hill range near the Nandi Hills area, about 60 km from Bangalore. On your way you will pass through Sathya Sai Grama Muddenahalli, Panchavati Ashram in Chickballapur. The hill range consists of a group of 3 hills is a great weekend trek for anyone who would like a very good introduction to trekking.The trek route is challenging and features some of the best views of the wilderness landscape. The trail ends at the temple pond at the peak, few others places to see are the Ancient Chennakeshava cave temple, Shiva temple and Hanuman temple.
Overall Chennagiri is a 2 hour long hike to the peak with some of the most rewarding views of the untouched landscape. Other famous hills such as skandagiri and Nandi Hills are visible from the peak and make for a picture straight out of a postcard.
Trekking, mountaineeering, and rock climbing are the best things to do in Chickballapur. It takes 1 hours, 16 minutes to travel from Bangalore to Chandragiri Hills.

Chennagiri is our favorite one as we have explored it thrice and this was our fourth trek. Looking for a place to trek peacefully ? Then Chennagiri is the ideal one as it's closer to Bengaluru(around 60KMS), clean & calm and almost 0% crowd.
Muddenahalli is a village situated 7 km from Chikballapur in Chikballapur District of Karnataka State. It is the birthplace of Sir Mokshagundam Viswesvarayya, one of the India’s most accomplished engineers.
