A tour around Guilin, China at night including night markets, street food, pagodas and lakes 晚上桂林 So we finally made it to Guilin. We've been waiting for things to cool down and now that it is evening we're going to give you a little tour of the place. So I'm not sure we want to be walking through that tunnel when it gets a bit later in the day because it is pretty dark in there and there are no lights. And people aren't using their headlights.

When I was in Guilin two years ago this area right here used to all be traditional homes. One of my favorite restaurants was here. A really good Chinese restaurant. I used to love wandering around here. Now it's just new development.
So this is the Guilin main square. It gets really busy here at night. Lots of shops, restaurants, eateries. You can do it all here.

So we are now at the lake and the main attraction are the these two pagodas that light up at night.
Oh, that mapo tofu looks so good. Really generous sized portion.
Mix it in with my rice a bit.

It's nice and spicy. Really flavorful. Fresh tofu.
Mmmmmmm.
What are you having over there? Over here I've got deep fried taro balls. And as you can see they have a generous amount of caramel sauce. Really sweet and delicious.
Really crunchy on the outside, moist and chewy on the inside. Really sweet. Delicious. It's almost like a dessert.

Well, that's our first night in Guilin. I think we're both ready to get some rest and tomorrow we're going to visit some rice terraces, so we'll make a video there.

Purdue Study abroad stops in Guilin for a few days of down time. The beautiful countryside is covered in caves, mountains, rivers, scenery, farms, and some hidden attractions like the pearl museum. Guests were treated to a fashion show of pearl jewelry and DRESSES!

This demonstration was given at the Guilin Art Museum in China, showing a local artist creating a traditional painting with ink on silk or rice paper. One of the many beautiful paintings available in Guilin, now hangs at home. to remind us regularly of our serene journey down the Li River.

Reed Flute Cave known as the Palace of Natural Arts is located in the northwest of Guilin City , 5 kilometers away from the center of the city.
According to a legend, Reed Flute Cave got its name because people believed that the reed by the cave's mouth could be made into flutes. The length of the Reed Flute Cave is 240 meters and offers a majestic fairyland of karst caves with landscape and rural scenery. It is a magic fairyland of stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, birds, plants and animals in fantastic shapes and colors, all glistening in colorful lights.

Jalan jalan ke Sungai Li di Guilin, Cina - Pemandangan yang MANTUL
Nyonya Swan melanjutkan lagi perjalanannya di Cina, kali ini jalan jalan ke Guilin. Pemandangan alamnya memang tiada duanya, membuat berdecak kagum. Karya Tuhan yang luar biasa indahnya, sebuah perjalanan yang menginspirasi.
Yang pertama dikunjungi adalah sungai Li atau Li Jiang, sebuah tempat yang iconic dan menjadi lokasi yang dipakai gambarnya di uang 20 RMB. Hulu Sungai Li dihubungkan oleh kanal Lingqu kuno dengan Sungai Xiang, yang mengalir ke utara ke arah Sungai Yangtze, pada masa lalu membuat bagian sungau Li dan sungai Gui menjadi jalur air yang sangat penting yang menghubungkan Lembah Yangtze dengan delta sungai Pearl.
Yang kedua, nonton teater di alam terbuka. di atas sungai Li, yaitu Sanjie Liu Show. Teater khas Cina, dengan tarian yang memukau, salah satu show yang harus dikunjungi di Cina.
Kemudian beranjak lagi ke Reed Flute Cave, gua batu kapur puspa warna, yang menurut Nyonya Swan mirip dengan gua jati jajar di Indonesia, nggak kalahkan punya Indonesia?
Dan yang terakhir adalah simbol kota Guilin yaitu Elephant Trunk Hill, sangat terkenal karena bentuknya yang seperti belalai gajah sedang minum air sungai Li.

2 Days 1 Night Guilin Typical Tour
Day 1: Meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel, Elephant Hill, Reed Flute Cave. (Chinese lunch) Stay in Guilin.
Elephant Hill is situated in the confluence of Li River and Peach River, is the symbol of Guilin, the full moon of the hill looks like elephant' s trunk drinking water on Li River.
Reed Flute Cave is reputed as the art palace of the naturewhere you can see beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone flowers with various shape, all glistening in colorful lights which create breathtaking splendor.
Day 2: Li River Cruise Guilin-Yangshuo (Breakfast and Chinese lunch)
Meet you at your hotel at 8:00 -8:30 and transfer to Zhujiang pier at 9:30. Li River cruise (4 hours) to Yangshuo with lunch on board, you will feast your eyes with the reflection of fantastic peaks with various shapes, crystal clear water, green hills, bamboo groves, the river passes an endless procession of distinct peaks and bamboo groves and the stunning landscape. Disembark at Yangshuo about 2 pm, roam in famous West Street.
The West Street is oldest street in Yangshuo with over 1400 years, it is located at the center of Yangshuo, became famous since 1980's.
