BATTLESHIP USS ALABAMA (BB-60):
The keel of the USS ALABAMA (BB-60) was laid at the Norfolk Navy Yard, Portsmouth, Virginia, on 1 February 1940, the sixth vessel to bear the name of ALABAMA. At the outbreak of hostilities, her hull construction was nearing completion. Some two years later (16 February 1942), the new South Dakota Class battleship was launched in a colorful ceremony attended by many national figures. Sponsoring the vessel was Mrs. Lister Hill, wife of Alabama's Senator Hill. On 16 August 1942, in ceremonies at Portsmouth, Virginia, the new ship was placed in full commission and Captain George B. Wilson, USN, assumed command. The name ALABAMA was first assigned to the 74-gun ship-of-the-line, whose keel was laid in June 1819, at Portsmouth Navy Yard. Work proceeded slowly until the outbreak of the Civil War when Almost Alabama was renamed the NEW HAMPSHIRE.
The first ALABAMA, a 56-ton Revenue Cutter built at New York and acquired on 22 June 1819 at a cost of $ 4,500, was active in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico in the 1820s. She was responsible for the capture of more than one dozen pirate vessels and slave traders, and sold in 1833...
USS DRUM (SS-228):
The DRUM refers to any of various fishes capable of making a drumming noise; best known and named for a large sea bass off the North Atlantic Coast. The USS DRUM (SS-228) Submarine was launched May 12, 1941, by Portsmouth Navy Yard, New Hampshire, and sponsored by Mrs. Thomas Holcomb. She was commissioned November 1, 1941, with CDR R. H. Rice in command.
DRUM arrived at Pearl Harbor from the east coast April 1, 1942, and after a voyage to Midway, she cleared Pearl Harbor on April 14, 1942, action bound on her first war patrol. Cruising off the coast of Japan, she sank the seaplane Tender MIZUHO and three cargo ships in the month of May, returning to Pearl Harbor on June 12th to refit. DRUM's second war patrol, which she made in the waters between Truk and Kavieng from July 10th to September 2nd, found her efforts frustrated by poor torpedo performance, but she damaged one freighter before returning to Midway to refit...

John Root Home Movies Killer Ducks Starring Marty Marzullo Mobile Alabama Municipal Park
There's something kind of frightening about the black groundskeeper in the film. Not because of anything he does, but because of what his life was worth, presumably, during that time. It's a powerful documentation, because it's unexpected and unintentional. He pulls up in an old pick-up truck with mismatched body parts. His peering over at the camera is almost reminiscent of a Coon character from Hollywood films. For him, maybe that was the only way to act. Those are the only representations he was familiar with. He identifies himself, with the clothes he's wearing, as a man of menial labor, somewhere mostly rural, a gardener. Which is the least threatening costume a man can wear, outside of a monk's robe. Immediately, he comes at the observer with a dangerous weapon. Such an unexpected and desperate act! We see the nonsensical, omnidirectional chaos of Marty's Everyman character, flailing and writhing about, churning storms of birds in his wake. The weapon, the butterfly pin, comes in to settle on its specimen, and then Poof! like magic the needle lances a bag of Wonderbread, complete Surrealism. It's a film about celebrating the inanity of life and the misdirected attempt to control anything. It uses the lowest strata of human being to declare its purity, its moral integrity.
It was partly inspired by Un Chien Andalou, I believe.

BP Oil Spill - Pensacola, FL - Gulf Coast - Part 9
7/10/2010 I took another trip to Bay Bluffs Park off of Scenic Hwy in Pensacola, FL to see if there is any oil damage in the bay after seeing the oil washing up in there 2 weeks ago while crossing the I-10 bridge.
I found no noticeable oil damage at all!
Afterwards I visited D&D Cycles in Pensacola to pick up some parts for my SV650 and got caught in a rainstorm that came out of the north. There was no oil smell detected because of the northerly direction it came from.

General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge:
The two spans of the W.K. Wilson Bridge carry Interstate 65 across the Mobile River just northeast of Mobile, Alabama. Finished in 1978, the bridge stretches 6.08 miles and its architectural curves prompted locals to nickname it The Dolly Parton Bridge.
Sunshine Skyway Bridge:
This world-famous bridge stretches 6.51 miles across Tampa Bay between the St. Petersburg area and Terra Ceia, Florida. The current span was completed in 1987, replacing an earlier bridge that was heavily damaged in 1980 when a freighter collided with a support column.
Seven-Mile Bridge:
Part of the famous Overseas Highway connecting mainland Florida with the Keys, this 6.76-mile-long bridge carries U.S. 1 from Knight's Key to Little Duck Key. The bridge is the movie star of structures on this list, with appearances in several films, including True Lies and License to Kill. Large portions of an adjacent bridge, finished in 1912, still stand.
San Mateo-Hayward Bridge:
This 7-mile bridge, which crosses San Francisco Bay, is the only structure on this list west of Louisiana. Almost 93,000 vehicles a day take it between San Mateo and Alameda counties. Opened in 1967, the bridge on California Route 92 was legendary for its rush-hour traffic snarls before being widened in 2003.

BP Oil Spill - Pensacola, FL - Gulf Coast - Part 3
Gulf of Mexico BP Oil Spill UPDATE - I went to Pensacola's Bay Bluff Park at Pensacola Bay with the ducks before the BP oil spill comes up here to see what the shore looks like before the enviromental impact.
The remnants of the oil well on the sea floor has been spouting some 5,000 to 25,000 barrels of oil per day into the Gulf for almost 3 weeks now.
The wind still continues to come in from the south and I can smell the herb cumin in the air everyhere in the area. The local news reports that smell is indeed the BP oil spill.

SUMMARY
=======
Demopolis is the largest city in Marengo County, Alabama, United States. The population was 7,483 at the time of the 2010 United States Census. The city lies at the confluence of the Black Warrior and Tombigbee rivers. It is situated atop a cliff composed of the Demopolis Chalk Formation, known locally as White Bluff, on the east bank of the Tombigbee River. It is at the center of Alabama's Canebrake region and is also within the Black Belt.Demopolis was founded after the fall of Napoleon's Empire and named by a group of French expatriates, a mix of exiled Bonapartists and other French migrants who had settled in the United States after the overthrow of the colonial government in Saint-Domingue following the failed Saint-Domingue expedition. The name, meaning in Greek the People's City or City of the People, was chosen to honor the democratic ideals behind the endeavor. First settled in 1817, it is one of the oldest continuous settlements in Alabama. It was incorporated on December 11, 1821..
BP Oil Spill - Pensacola, FL - Gulf Coast - Part 5
6/5/2010 - Gulf of Mexico / Pensacola, FL UPDATE! - Finally some tar balls, but hardly any at all that I have seen. Some people found lots more elsewhere. Either things aren't as bad ON the beaches (no idea what it looks like under the water) or the cleanup crew has been doing a spectacular job.
As an added bonus... watch me get caught in a mini monsoon with about 2 dozen people at the Casino Beach pavillion at Pensacola Beach.

6/3/2010 - Gulf of Mexico / Pensacola, FL UPDATE! - Still no oil or tar balls or anything! Lots of media folks on the beach though, things are supposed to start happening as soon as today, but currently still nothing at time of filming.
Waterfowl Seeking Submerged Aquatic Vegetation
Waterfowl populations in the northern Gulf of Mexico (NGOM) rely extensively on plants that grow under the surface in shallow waters, know as submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), as a critical food resource in the winter season. SAV roots, shoots, and seeds provide high carbohydrate wildlife food that sustains valuable waterfowl species, including the American Wigeon, Canvasback, Ring-neck, and Red-headed ducks. Waterfowl and SAV populations are closely linked in the NGOM, and as the distribution of SAV shifts, the location and amount of waterfowl populations will similarly shift. To fully understand how climate change can affect waterfowl populations in the NGOM, South Central CSC supported research how SAV habitat may change as salinity regimes, water levels, and land configuration are altered as sea levels rise. Identifying potential changes in SAV in the NGOM will help to conserve critical waterfowl habitat as sea-level rise impacts the coastal landscape.

Here's a quick note to let you know how I can help you—or anyone you feel comfortable introducing me to.
This question highlights confusion about the definition of Buyer's Agent. Some agents work only with buyers by choice. They might call themselves Buyer's Agents, just as some agents work with only sellers, calling themselves Seller's Agents. But most agents are both buyer's and seller's agents. The best option is to find an agent you trust, then ask them to represent you -- whether or not they call themselves a Buyer's Agent.
Also think about what you expect from your agent. Do you want your agent to point out problems, push hard for your price, or get extras for you? These are things that ANY good agent will do when representing you. So once you find an agent you trust, discuss your concerns and goals with them to be sure your needs are met.
