Test flights have been successful at a new airport in a resort town in southern China's Hainan province.
The town, Boao, is venue of the annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia, a non-profit organization founded in 2001 committed to promoting economic integration in Asia.
Construction of the airport began in March last year with an estimated investment of about 173 million U.S. dollars.
This year's forum will be held from March 22 to 25, during which political, business and academic leaders will discuss pressing global and regional issues.
The airport is expected to start trial operation just before that.

A bus trip in China Haikou city center
Please enjoy the video on a bus ride through the city center of Haikou, capital of Hainan province of south China. The bus fare was an economical 1 RMB for most routes in the city. The bus was very comfortable with air-con and I really appreciate the modern features provided in the city bus, especially announcement and LED displays for every bus stops.
Airport Fight in Nanchang China
On July 2nd, a Tianjin airline was supposed to depart from Nanchang to Haikou at 11 am. But due to the delay of the previous flight, the passengers were not able to board the plane until 5:30 pm. The airline offered meals, accommodation and 200 yuan compensation for each of the passengers as a goodwill gesture. But a tourist guide named Yu leading a 50-person tour group was not satisfied with the offer.
The tension worsened when Miss Yu started to smash computers and phones. Five days later, Miss Yu was arrested for disrupting public order.
