Places to see in ( Maui - USA ) Hana
Hāna is a census-designated place in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 1,235 at the 2010 census. Hana is located at the eastern end of the island of Maui and is one of the most isolated communities in the state. It is reached mainly via the Hana Highway, a long, winding, 52-mile-long (84 km) highway along Maui's northern shore.
Like most of Hawaii, Hana was probably first settled between 500 and 800 AD by Polynesian peoples. The first sugarcane plantation in the area was established by George Wilfong in 1849, and by 1883 there were six plantations operating in the area. By 1946, however, the last sugarcane plantation had closed, leading plantation workers to move mostly to the west side of Maui. That same year saw the opening of the Ka-'uiki Inn, today known as the Hotel Travaasa - Hana, which helped transition the economy towards tourism. The winding, famously scenic Hana Highway was completed in 1926. Originally paved with gravel, it provided the first land vehicle access to the town. Hana's population peaked in the first half of the twentieth century, with a population of about 3,500.
Hana is located directly on the East Rift Zone of East Maui Volcano (Haleakalā). The Hana Airport offers flights with regular service to the Big Island, Kahului, and Oahu. According to the United States Census Bureau, this CDP has a total area of 11.7 square miles (30.3 km2), of which 10.5 square miles (27.3 km2) is land and 1.2 square miles (3.0 km2), 9.77%, is water.

Waianapanapa Cave In Maui Hana
Waianapanapa cave on Maui Hana. Once upon a time, a Hawaiian princess named Popoalaea fled from her cruel husband, the Chief Kakae. She hid on a ledge just inside the underwater entrance to the cave at Waianapanapa. A faithful serving maid sat across from her fanning the princess with a feather Kahili symbol of royalty. Noticing the reflection of the kahili in the water, the chief Kakae discovered Popoalaea's hiding place and killed her. At certain times of the year, tiny red shrimp appear in the pool, turning the water red. Some say it is a reminder of the blood of the slain princess. Trip to Maui, Hawaii, USA || Twin falls || Road to Hana || Telugu vlogs from USA
Waterfalls & Hiking
Ho'olawa Valley is home to multiple waterfalls. The lower falls are close to the entrance and relatively easy to access. They're a bit smaller, but picturesque and often overlooked. To view the lower falls there are two overlooks. The first is a short walk past the portable toilets, then a trail to the left off the gravel road next to a log bench. This is the Twin Falls waterfall. The second is a little farther up the gravel road. Look for another log bench as a landmark to find the second overlook. These overlooks are recommended because of their close proximity to the parking lot. Traveling further, you can get to the waterfall that is in most of the images (Caveman Falls). This pool is much larger, and usually more crowded than the previous falls. It's a bit more difficult to access and a further hike. To find Caveman follow the gravel road 3/4 of a mile until you reach the forest. You will pass driveways and farm trails. Please be respectful and stay on the road. At the three way intersection, take a left and follow the rocky path. Be advised... This is a more difficult path due to uneven, rocky and slippery terrain as well as other hazards.
Ho‘okipa is a beach on the north shore of Maui, Hawaii, United States, perhaps the most renowned windsurfing site in the world. A combination of large, well-shaped waves breaking across a system of reefs that extend across the bay and consistently strong winds make it ideal for the sport.
Waves there are largest during the winter, smaller in summer. In addition to windsurfing competitions surfing contests are held there as well.
The name Ho‘okipa means hospitality in Hawaiian. Ho'okipa Beach Park is located on Maui's North Shore alongside the Hana Highway. There are picnic facilities and observation decks for visitors.

Machi, quiet and tranquil villages like one of our country! But here is where the villa of a famous Hollywood actor. It is home to the hearts of people enjoying the surf again. Carrying the body feet heel against the rough waves of water a strong gesture of people to emergency! But it's fun to say over and wallow. I decided to talk to the natives and the oldest among them more visible. How long you surf? Because I'm 80 years old, was about 40 years. The surfboard I'd say 'fish'. The wide tail end of the four-pin depend. Good for summer and winter waves. Eat a low age as obese people are suitable for the big board.

Maui: Road to Hana
The Hana Highway is a 64.4-mile-long (103.6 km) stretch of Hawaii Routes 36 and 360 which connects Kahului to the town of Hana in east Maui.
Although Hana is only about 52 miles (84 km) from Kahului, it takes about 2.5 hours to drive even when no stops are made since the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, of which 46 are only one lane wide. There are approximately 620 curves along Route 360 from just east of Kahului to Hana, almost all of it through lush, tropical rainforest. Many of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910 and all but one are still in use. That one bridge, badly damaged by erosion, has been replaced by a portable steel ACROW bridge erected by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
In August 2000, the highway was designated as the Hana Millennium Legacy Trail by President Bill Clinton, with the trail start designated in Pa?ia. The Hana Highway was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 15, 2001.
The Hana Highway is a popular tourist attraction in Maui. Guidebooks often devote large sections to traveling the highway leading to the eastern side of Maui.
Beyond the town of Hana, the Hana Highway becomes Hawaii State Road 330 and leads to the ?Ohe?o Gulch where the Seven Sacred Pools are located within the Kipahulu Area of the Haleakala National Park.
Occasionally the dirt road past Route 31 is closed to traffic due to landslides.

The Long Road to Hana and Black Sand Beach Waianapanapa State Park Maui Hawaii : Ep.02
On our last day in Maui Hawaii, we had to make an executive decision as to whether we would take the long drive out to Waianapanapa State Park (black sand beach). Our redeye flight back to the mainland was leaving at 9:30pm and we had a 3 hour drive each way. The weather was just too good to not go so we went. And it was totally worth it. Along the way we stopped at The Garden of Eden Arboretum, Keanae Lookout, and several beautiful waterfalls. This is a great way to break up the winding 64 mile road trip.
We arrived at Waianapanapa State Park and the weather was perfect. This is a beautiful place with the most amazing black sand beach so be sure to include this in your travel itinerary. The black sand is actually more like small black rocks and some fine black gravel just fyi. There is a long scenic trail that stretches north and south of the beach so be sure to make time to explore.
The quickest way to Hana and Waianapanapa
If you are short on time and have the funds, you should seriously consider taking a short flight on Mokulele from Kahului. After driving the road to Hana 3x, I think I will book a flight on my next trip.
I should mention that camping is allowed and on my first trip to Waianapanapa in 1998 I camped here to breakup the long drive. There is nothing quite like waking up to turtles swimming in the waves right off the black sand beach as the sun is rising. Epic!
On another previous trip I visited Ohe’o Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools) and hiked the Pipiwai trail to Waimoku Falls. The bamboo forest is magical and a must if you take the time to visit the Hana side of the Island.
If you have the time I would highly recommend an overnight stay so that you won't be rushed. We did not have this luxury so we had to make it a day trip.
Around 5:00pm we began our journey back to Kahului to catch our flight. I should mention that this was a risky proposition and I don't recommend it. The road is very narrow winds around the island. I believe the trip has 620 curves and 59 bridges. If we had any car trouble or any traffic we could miss our flight. Luckily the only issue we encountered was a drunk/high local driving recklessly while passing cars going 50 miles an hour. He passed us and then ended up crashing into a truck going the opposite way. He didn't stop and left the scene of the accident. Luckily a bystander got a license plate and I hope and pray he was caught.
Luckily we made our flight and everything went smoothly. Even if we had missed our flight, what's the worst that could happen, another day in paradise? Heaven forbid! :)
