Hanayashiki: Japan's Oldest Amusement Park
I went to check out Japan's oldest amusement park - Hanayashiki in Asakusa - with Mira! Sadly we weren't allowed to film on the rides, but hopefully you can still get a feel for the place in the video. Despite its location, it seems that not many tourists know about Hanayashiki - it's definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.
Check out Mira's channel too!

All About Asakusa - Our First Japan Trip
Yay! Sharing my first video from our Japan trip last month. Since I was also the navigator during the trip, I found it hard to take videos while making sure that we didn't get completely lost in Tokyo. Despite having a few clips, this entire edit still includes most highlights of our Asakusa experience.
These are some of the places you can go to in Asakusa that not all tourists are aware of --
Hanayashiki Amusement Park (
Taikokan Drum Museum (
Sumida Koen (
This will be the first of a series of videos I'll be editing from our Japan trip.
Enjoy!

Japan's Oldest Amusement Park: Hanayashiki 2009.8.13
In Tokyo, we have Japan's oldest amusement park, Hanayashiki which opened in 1953. It's a small one, with lots of rides for the little ones. Perfect for my 5-year-old, or so we thought. She's a timid one - gets scared by... just about everything. But we had fun. Here's a couple minutes of video.

Hanayashiki Amusement Park, Tokyo
Fantastic Places in Cool Japan :
Famous as the oldest amusement park in Japan, “Hanayashiki Amusement Park” has a lot of retro and nostalgic attractions. However, not only that, but in recent years there have also been state-of-the-art mysterious attractions and photogenic illumination.
Hanayashiki Amusement Park is Japan’s oldest amusement park in Asakusa, Taito-ku. Its opening dates back to 1853 in the Edo period. Initially, it opened as a “Hana Yashiki” botanical garden where peony and chrysanthemums bloom, and in the Edo period, it was popular as a gathering place for tea and haiku poets. At that time, the swing was the only playground equipment. After that, it was rebuilt many times, and in 1947, it seems that the present figure was completed to some extent.

JAPAN TRIP - Asakusa, Tokyo 【HD】
Asakusa is a district in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan, most famous for the Sensō-ji, a Buddhist temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon. There are several more temples in Asakusa, as well as various festivals.
Asakusa is the terminus of the Metro Ginza line (G19), which is the best way to get into the area, perhaps by connecting from the Yamanote line at Ueno. Other options are to take the eponymous Toei Asakusa line(A18), which carves a path through eastern and southern Tokyo, or by taking the Toei Oedo Line to the Kuramae Station(E11), or by using the Tobu-Isesaki Line.
Cab Station Ltd's Super Shuttle bus service runs four daily round-trips between Narita Airport and Asakusa for ¥1000. Buses pick up/discharge near the Toei Asakusa subway and the Tsukuba Express line.
Cruises down the Sumidagawa river depart from a wharf only 5-minute walk from the temple, by the Azuma-bashi bridge. There are a number of boat routes available, so have a look at the map and then decide which one to pick.

TOKYO,ASAKUSA Popular spotsTOP5 (Tokyo citizens teach with confidence)
Asakusa is a place where you can feel Tokyo the most real.
When walking through Asakusa Nakamise shopping street from Kaminarimon to Asakusa Temple, Kotekote's Japanese products are like mountains.
Fan chopsticks hatchki dumpling rice cracker and so on. I felt walking around the Nakamise shopping area that it is the biggest charm of Asakusa that I feel the old-fashioned atmosphere of Japan.
I'm just satisfied with just walking. It's a city where you can feel Japan without having to buy anything.
People of foreign tourists such as swords or wigs are buying souvenirs in an interesting way.
Asakusa is a place where you can feel such good old Japan.
