There might be people who are going to Tokyo but don’t have the time or money to go all the way down to Kyoto. Well, here’s a spot just for you here in Tokyo.
There is a shine in Tokyo that gives you the same mysterious atmosphere as Fushimi Inari Taisha without visiting Kyoto. It is called Hanazonoinari Shrine inside Ueno Park

Gojoten Shrine & Hanazono Inari Shrine in UENO PARK
Gojoten Jinja (五条天神社) and Hanazono Inari Jinja (花園稲荷神社) in Ueno Park are
two Shinto shrines which share the precincts.
Hanazono Inari Shrine was located here from long ago (but unknown exactly from
when), and after Kan'eiji was established here, it became the guardian of the temple.
Gojoten Shrine was, according to legend, founded about 1900 years ago in present day
Ueno Park but was relocated afterwards to other places, and it came back to the park
in 1928. The buildings of both shrines were constructed in that year.
On February 3, many Shinto shrines and major Buddhist temples hold bean throwing
ceremony. This shrine is no exception, but conducts a little drama called Ukera‑no‑
shinji before the been throwing.

☆Bits of knowledge〜Gojoten Shrine〜
Ueno Park in Tokyo is famous for several reasons. It houses many of the country’s top museums. It has a zoo. Its cherry blossom parties are legendary. And it was the site of a decisive battle in the Boshin Civil War, featuring Saigo Takamori (‘the last samurai’) whose statue stands near the southern entrance.
Not many people know, however, that the park also boasts three shrines. The most famous is the Toshogu Shrine, one of some 200 around the country dedicated to the spirit of Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616). The shogun was deified after his death as Tosho Daigongen (Great Avatar of the Shining East). The shrine was originally built in 1627 by a Tokugawa follower, but was rebuilt in grander style in 1651 by the third Tokugawa shogun, Iemitsu, who glorified his grandfather.

Torii
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A torii (鳥居, lit. bird abode, /ˈtɔəri.iː/) is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred (see Sacred-profane dichotomy). The presence of a torii at the entrance is usually the simplest way to identify Shinto shrines, and a small torii icon represents them on Japanese road maps. They are however a common sight at Japanese Buddhist temples too, where they stand at the entrance of the temple's own shrine, called chinjusha (鎮守社, tutelary god shrine) and are usually very small.
Their first appearance in Japan can be reliably pinpointed to at least the mid-Heian period because they are mentioned in a text written in 922. The oldest existing stone torii was built in the 12th century and belongs to a Hachiman Shrine in Yamagata prefecture. The oldest wooden torii is a ryōbu torii (see description below) at Kubō Hachiman Shrine in Yamanashi prefecture built in 1535.
Torii were traditionally made from wood or stone, but today they can be also made of reinforced concrete, copper, stainless steel or other materials. They are usually either unpainted or painted vermilion with a black upper lintel. Inari shrines typically have many torii because those who have been successful in business often donate in gratitude a torii to Inari, kami of fertility and industry. Fushimi Inari-taisha in Kyoto has thousands of such torii, each bearing the donor's name.
