Hat Head Camping Weekend 2017
Family Camping Trip - Hat Head National Park
A collection of clips taken from our family holiday to Hat Head National Park (NSW, Australia) in January 2017. All shot with a GoPro Hero 4 Silver and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
This is also my first attempt at video documenting and editing. I really enjoyed the process and I look forward to creating more content.

Hat Head National Park is a rugged piece if volcanic coastline east of Kempsey NSW on the Mid North Coast. It has spectacular beaches and crystal clear inlets suitable for swimming and other water sports. The beauty of the area is staggering and it is worthwhile taking one or two of the walks around the coastline. That is exactly what I did on Boxing Day, 2018
Smoky Cape Camping Area, Hat Head National Park, South West Rocks NSW
197. We stayed at the Smoky Cape Camping Area in the Hat Head National Park in South West Rocks.
The campground is located right at the beach at the base of the Smoky Cape Lighhouse which is worth visiting.
The entry to the campground is dirt track and does have potholes but it's only 200m so not an issue.
There's a pay station as you enter the campground to make payment.
The camping area has a max 6 weeks stay.
There is no phone coverage in the camping area, you need to go to the beach. Most sites are covered by trees so generating solar power is limited and there is no generators allowed.
It was windy night on the beach but we got no breeze at all in the campground.
There are toilets available but no showers, water or bins.
This is National Park so no pets allowed.
Cost to stay is $6 per adult per night and $3.50 per child aged 5-15yo. This is National Park so don't forget your National Parks vehicle pass at $8 per day or annual pass for $65.
Our stay was 3rd November 2018.

NSW Mid-North Coast 4X4 Adventure - Queens Lake, Hat Head NP, Jolly Nose SF
A quick day trip around our local area. Started the morning off in Queens Lake Nature Reserve where we had a look around Jolly Nose and Queens Lake and did some 4wding. Then spent the afternoon down on the sand dunes in Hat Head National park where we ended up very bogged.

Hat Head, Macleay Valley Coast
Nestled within the dense, natural bushland of Hat Head National Park, the beachside village of Hat Head boasts a crystal clear creek that opens onto stunning beaches.
Kids will love swimming in the gentle waves, or take them snorkeling at high tide in the pristine waters of Korogoro Creek.
Korogoro Creek can also be explored by surf ski, paddle board or kayak.
But, fishing is the main game in these here parts, and with the deep waters of the continental shelf only 11 miles offshore, you’re in with a good chance of catching the big one while you’re here. There’s access to a boat ramp and even a fish cleaning area to help you prepare your catch after a successful day.
Hat Head is a must do destination. With the perfect golden sandy beaches, dramatic sea cliffs and delightful coves. There is plenty to while-away a sunny summer day with the family.
Hat Head National Park is simply stunning. Home to long, sandy beaches, dramatic headlands, and one of the largest dune systems in New South Wales. With stunning coastal heaths, pockets of rainforest, extensive wetlands and beautiful wildflower displays the variety of natural beauty it contains is breathtaking.
