Here's part 2 of our bike ride. This is the return trip from Manhattan Beach Pier to Hermosa Cyclery.

Its population was 19,506 at the 2010 U.S. Census. The city is located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area; it is one of the three Beach Cities.

Hermosa Beach is one of the more quiet sections of the Strand. This area is a shared path so you'll see both bikes and pedestrians.
Hermosa Strand is also more residential than other areas and thus more quiet. There is a small pedestrian mall near the pier and we cover that in an upcoming video.

Fiesta Hermosa
Fiesta Hermosa - Since 1972, HBCCVB has produced Fiesta Hermosa, the “Largest Arts & Crafts Fair in Southern California,” featuring approximately 300 artists including painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewelers, sculptors, and handicrafters. The festival takes place every Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) in downtown Hermosa Beach.
Fiesta Hermosa attendees can choose from a wide selection of cuisine in the food court, which also boasts a new clean uniform look to vendors and general seating area. The AB InBev-sponsored Charity Beer & Wine Garden offers beer, wine and beeritas with proceeds benefiting a number of local charities. There is live music on two main stages as well as a new satellite stage situated outside Java Man. A full schedule is available under music lovers.
Families have plenty of activities to keep the kids happy. The Kiddie Carnival features a 30 foot slide, mechanical rides and games for kids from 3 to 10 years old. There will be pony rides, a petting zoo and face painters.
Mommies can find solace in their very own tranquil zone at the Fiesta Siesta. Fiesta Siesta is a staffed, secure Mommy zone, where diapers can be changed, babies can be nursed, water can be found, and mommies can freshen up and just relax. Alison, a very grateful mom had this to say about the Fiesta Siesta: “I was able to nurse & change my 3 month old. Just wanted to say Thank You! It was very comfortable and much appreciated!”
Free shuttle bus service runs from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily from the Northrop Grumman parking lot located at the southwest corner of Aviation Boulevard and 33rd Street (one block north of Marine Avenue) in Manhattan Beach. Additional buses have been scheduled to mitigate congestion and parking issues.
Return of the ever-popular & world famous free Bike Valet service, compliments of Hermosa Cyclery located just south of the Hermosa Beach Pier. The lot is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily with an on-site diagnostic checkup.

THE HISTORY OF REDONDO BEACH
Before the Beginning...
1850 - California becomes the 31st state.
1854 - Manuel Dominguez sells Redondo's salt lake to Henry Allenson and William Johnson. Sale precipitates establishment of Pacific Salt Works.
1862 - Los Angeles merchant Francis Mellus acquires bankrupt salt works. Cycles of drought and floods ruin ranch economy.
1887 - Redondo Company buys 1,400 acres from Dominguez heirs. Land is bordered by Knob Hill, Herondo, Prospect, and the ocean. The name Redondo is derived from the round shape and amphitheater topography. State engineer William Hammond Hall conducts soundings off shore and discovers a deep canyon leading to Redondo's development as a port.
1888 - First Santa Fe excursion train arrives in Redondo. Iron pier is built at foot of Emerald Street. John C. Ainsworth and Robert R. Thompson acquire the Redondo Company.
1889 - Los Angeles County Supervisors grant Redondo Railway Company a franchise to operate.
1890 - Chautauqua Assembly is dedicated at Pacific Coast Highway and Diamond Street. Hotel Redondo opens on site later to become Veterans Park.
1892 - City of Redondo Beach is incorporated after citizens vote 177 to 10.
2001 - City of Redondo Beach official population is 63,261.
