Stories in the Land Soundpiece
A sound piece constructed from all the different elements of the Stories in the Land project. A woodpecker chick chattering in a hollow tree, the wind turbine at Loch Ossian, storyteller Claire Hewitt's harp strings singing in the wind, and Claire singing in a tunnel that follows a drove route under a main road, footsteps on a rocky path, Ruaridh Ormiston walking with a pony & cart - all provide a backdrop to stories, songs and conversations recorded live & outdoors on drove routes during the project.

STORYLINE
In the Kosovo capital Pristina, a horse drawn carriage named Independence carries Santa Claus through the city on Monday, the last day of 2007, representing the new year's dream of Kosovo's Albanian community.
Kosovo is widely expected to unilaterally declare independence early in 2008, after talks with Serbia on reaching a solution on the status of the breakaway province failed.
Kosovo is currently a United Nations administered province of Serbia, and its leaders want independence from Belgrade.
The European Union and the US supports supervised independence, but UN-sponsored talks have reached deadlock on the issue.
The fear is that if Pristina unilaterally declared independence from Serbia, that could provoke serious civil unrest, with clashes between the majority ethnic Albanian population and Kosovan Serbs, or even a military response.

Our staff and volunteers are on hand to help around the park. Remember, some of our animals are active at different times of the day so it's always worthwhile revisiting an enclosure.
