I call this one a Flight over the cuckoo's nest, as both my wife and mother-in-law come from this town :) I love them dearly of course, but I've told them they are both crazy. The nest is a beautiful mountainous town in the north part of Bulgaria, and is famous touristic center, as well as an old town, with a rich architecture and history. Also a place popular for its crafts, like pottery with its distinctive color patterns. In this lengthy aerial walk we focus on the central part and the river Osum (Awesome as we call it), passing through the city and flowing north to join the Danube. The central square is quite a cozy place in this nearing Christmas time - children were playing in the last rays of the fall sun and carols were flowing from the nearby cultural center through the sound system, creating a playful and holiday mood. The square is quite spacious and surrounded post office, the town hall, the cultural center (called Chitalishte Nauka 1870) and the museum of crafts and arts. There are quite some historic buildings around, reminiscing of the ages through which this town have lived and survived. Around the city we can see the skirts of the Stara Planina mountain. It is always nice to be in this hospitable little town, and it is not the first time I flew and filmed here, but a lot of time passed and I was not happy with previous results, so this time I made sure to bring a higher standard to a video about this second home of mine.
