Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Review Santa Claus Indiana
What a cool park this is! Pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but the coasters are sweet, the water park is sweet, the atmosphere is sweet, and the soda is free! What more do you want?

Places to see in ( Indianapolis - USA )
Places to see in ( Indianapolis - USA )
Indianapolis is in the Nine-County Region of Indiana, right at the center of the state. It is the state capital and largest city of Indiana, United States, and is in Marion County. The population within city limits is approximately 830,000 people, making it the 12th largest city in the US. The metropolitan area has about 2 million (23rd in the US). Indianapolis is also known as the Racing Capital of the World due to the proximity of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indy 500 and Allstate 400 at the Brickyard (formerly known as the Brickyard 400).
The name Indianapolis is simply Indiana joined with polis, the Greek word for city. The founders of Indianapolis expected it to be the Great Inland Port, but they neglected to consider the fact that the White River is impossible to navigate most of the year; other than during the spring, it is a melange of sandbars and temporary islands. However, this port-desire left the city with a beautiful, if useless, canal district.
The tallest building in Indianapolis is the Salesforce Tower, standing at 830 feet. The second is the One America Tower standings at 533 feet, and the third is the One Indiana Tower standing at a height of 504 feet. The fourth and fifth are the Market Tower (421 feet) and 300 North Meridian (408 feet). The sixth and seventh tallest are the M&I Plaza (401 feet), and the seventh tallest is the JW Marriott Indianapolis (376 feet): the JW Marriott Indianapolis is the tallest hotel in the state and the largest JW Marriott in the world.
Clean-cut Indy is the state capital and a perfectly pleasant place to ogle race cars and take a spin around the renowned speedway. The art museum and White River State Park have their merits, as do the Mass Ave and Broad Ripple hoods for eating and drinking. And fans of author Kurt Vonnegut are in for a treat. A swell walking and biking trail connects it all.
Indianapolis is called the Crossroads of America. The city is warm in the summer, with average highs in the mid-80s in June, July, and August. Indianapolis has a typical mid-western winter. January is the coldest month, with an average high of 34 degrees.

Skiles Test Park, Indianapolis Flowers and insects on them
This is a follow up to the previous video, featuring more stills and one more video clip from the same place taken on several different occasions. For most of the flower pictures, I under exposed at least one stop and used fill flash. Camera = Pentax Optio Z-10. As before, I'll get these pix up at Friendster and Flickr eventually.
----
Skiles Test was the eccentric proprietor of the House of Blue Lights - Indy's most famous haunted house, on the N.E. side near Fall Creek & Shadeland. Its now a park, and a delightful one. At the entrance is a bee/butterfly garden. I'd gone to shoot video for another far more ambitious project, but I stopped on my way out and got these great video clips at high optical zoom.
I muted the video sound because it was just traffic from Fall Creek Pkway, I-465, etc., and replaced it with a podsafe track, Disappearance by Throcke-
I know its podsafe and doubtless under some sort of creative commons license, but I couldn't find the specifics.
The still and many MANY others from this hidden gem of a park will be posted at flickr and friendster among other places when I get around to it.
Incidentally, I was able to visit the House of Blue Lights before its untimely and controversial demolition.

Indiana | Family Time in Beautiful Indiana | Cheap RV Living
Full time RV living- Indianapolis, Indiana is Christina's hometown and since it's the crossroads of America, naturally we pass through!! We camped at Summit Lake State Park in White Castle, Indiana for a few days before we made it to Grandma's driveway. Luckily, our RV fit perfect and we were able to dry camp/ driveway surf here for a couple weeks. Not only did this save us money but we were able to spend some real time with our gigantic family! What you see here is just a small taste of our family that consists of well over 200 people. We got too busy visiting to capture most of our family but we are so grateful for the memories. We cannot wait to go back soon.
