Running the Hollyford Track | Fiordland | NZ
We flew into Martins Bay in Fiordland during Waitangi weekend 2016 and ran the Hollyford Track over 2 days. We got lucky on the weather, had a perfect flight and smashed the trail. Epic mish
70kms from the airfield to Martins Bay Hut and the seal colony on the wild west coast and back up the Hollyford Valley over 2 days. We did not expect the trail to be as rough and rugged as it was but it made for an even more challenging and enjoyable test of fitness. We were elated by the scenery and raw natural beauty of the coast, lakes, rivers, mountains, steep beech and Rimu and Totara rainforest.
I have walked all of New Zealand's 9 Great Walks of New Zealand (greatwalks.co.nz) and this is by far the best that does not make that premium grade.

Walk the Hollyford Track
Walk the Hollyford Track, Fiordland, New Zealand. A five minute preview from Milford Guide.
The hollyford Track is officially 4 days and unless you walk out, requires a flight. It may be the most rewarding track in Fiordland. The bird song is very good in the lower Hollyford, and Martins Bay is a splendid place to relax and spend a little time. The Demon Trail, shattered rock and twisted roots, lives up to its fearsome reputation, but is ultimately walkable by most people.

Who invented the face tattooes?
I came up with BeKeSe (Best Kept Secrets) to draw everyone’s attention to lesser-known wonderful things other people have created over the years, whether it is a building, clothing, a legend, a tradition, a village, or an entire country.
BeKeSe is not just about traveling to see something, but to feel the creative energy, even from your couch. I chose the ones I absolutely love. Many of them are places of mystery, secrecy, magic, legends, and allure. While the videos are edited by me only some of the photographs are taken by me. I am grateful to the others that have contributed.
I would love your feedback, suggestions and artistic contribution to help BeKeSe grow. I hope you enjoy, like, and share the videos.

Guide to Hollyford Track New Zealand
Hollyford track is a spectacular trail in New Zealand that is underutilized due to the perception that it is too difficult for many people or because not knowing what to expect. Hopefully this guide will make the track more popular by showing its beauty and showing that you do not need to be an expert tramper to get to the magnificent Martin's Bay area at the Tasman Sea at the end of the trail.

Fiordland: Pyke - Big Bay Route & Hollyford Track
10 days loop-hike on Big Bay Route and Hollyford Track in Fiordland, New Zealand South Island on Easter 2016. We got a boat ride from Alabaster Hut to Olivine Hut and avoided the walk on the shore of Alabaster Lake and the Black Swamp. Not too much footage from Pyke - it was a hard tramp and we concentrated on walking. Big Bay was beautiful and the Hollyford Track a bit challenging. This hike was supposed to be a resting trip after walking the lenght of New Zealand along Te Araroa trail, so we took it slow at the end and stayed overnight in every hut.

This was our 4th tramp in Fiordland, and the 4th one of perfect weather- so much for the 2 out of 3 days torrential rain!
