Circular hike in the Sierra de Guadarrama June 2016
A really nice long-distance hike in the Sierra de Guadarrama, easily accessible from Madrid. The route follows the main ridges of the Guadarrama range. It links a number of trails and paths, with one section without path (on the Collado de Flecha), and several short sections on roads. A good variation would be to include the summit of Penalara, which I missed as a storm was forecast.

あとは、手数が長くスローパーなので、手のかじかみとの戦いでした。
綺麗なトラバースだったので、登れてうれしいです。

Riding Soap Rock in Wine Country | La Rioja: Day 2
This was the final morning of the La Rioja trip. The rain came down and the rock turned to soap. It was a 'delicate' few descents, a little tense and not as fast as I would have liked, but you have to make it down in one piece. With only two descents before lunch and making our way home, we had to make it count. This was a great end to three days of unique riding.

Riding The Most Technical MTB Trail in Central Spain.
Patones, is known for having some of the most technical MTB trails in central Spain. Its gnarly descents, brutal climbs and sharp slate rock ready to cut you up into slices of ham aren't for the faint of heart. So why would you want to go??? Because it's freakin' awesome. It's challenging, a little scary and fast when it needs to be. All the right ingredients for a fantastic morning's riding.

Chasing McTrail Rider through the Spanish Gnar | Warm up day!
I'd invited McTrail Rider to Madrid as soon as I heard he was hitting Spain whilst on his European trail tour. The problem was, he was arriving on a Bank Holiday weekend which meant the Sierra was going to be packed with Madrileños!!!
So what did we do? We headed to San Martín de Valdeiglesias. A small castle town that's tucked away from the crowds, with a stunning backdrop overlooking the reservoir...and packed with some pretty fun trails. This was just the warm up for things to come!

Day 4- Madrid Camino de Santiago | Crossing Sierra de Guadarrama at Fuenfria Mtn Pass onto Segovia
First part of the Madrid Camino de Santiago is a long hike into the Sierra de Guadarrama from Cercedilla. I climb on ancient Roman road to reach Fuenfria mountain pass. Then a slow, leisurely descent into Segovia. Segovia is renowned for the huge Roman Aqueduct in the centre of the city. I check into my hostel and catch a military band concert in the Catbedral. For dinner I visit an Indian restaurant the stroll around Segovia at night. It was a long, tiring with over 35 km walked over the course of the day!

So after all my guided trips with companies, it was time to go back and visit Nathan (Sendero Seeker) in Madrid to ride some more varied trails.
We started out in Cercedilla, the go-to enduro destination for many people from Madrid as it's so close to the city.
Oh, and I was on a Lapierre.

So my videos keep getting shorting because I keep getting lazier about making them, but I know some day I'll look back and be glad I have all these memories. Anyways, I got the opportunity to go to Segovia with the other exchange students and it was beautiful! We got to tour the castle Snow White was based on as well as a beautiful cathedral and see a Roman Aqueduct. Exchange has now gotten to that point where it feels like I really am just living a normal life now. From family, to friends, to the community, I just feel so at home.
