Nubra valley - Hunder Sand dunes
Sand dunes of Hunder, Camel rides, the beauty of Nubra,
Leh to Nubra Valley Drive - Diskit & Hunder Cold Desert - Ladakh
Leh – Nubra Cicuit is very popular with tourists visiting Ladakh. The drive takes one through 18,380’ Khardungla – the highest motorabe pass in the world. In early summer when the pass opens for tourist traffic the snow views around the pass is stupendous. A detour at Khalsar gives tourists opportunity to visit Sumur and Panamic. The last part of the drive is through cold desert regions of Nubra valley namely Diskit and Hunder. Diskit has a spectacular seven storied monastery building and Monastic school near the highway. At Hunder sand dunes, double humped Bactrian Camel ride is popular with tourists. A night halt is made at picturesque Hunder village which has a number of guest houses and tented accommodations.
Evening at Hunder Sand Dunes - Nubra Valley, Ladakh
Located in Nubra Valley, Sand Dunes of Hunder at altitude of 10,000', has maximum footfalls of the tourists visiting Ladakh. It is the habitat of double humped Bactrian Camels and some of them ( Camels ) are being used for ride which is very popular with visitors. The entry to the Sand Dunes boasts of Sand Dunes Restaurant. The stream running by is not too deep, to enable the revellers to wade through it and also give plenty of scope for photo shooting. Not to be missed before the dusk sets in is the setting sun lighting up the sandy hills in brilliant orange hue. THIS VIDEO HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECTED TO COLOR ENHANCEMENT.

Bactrian camels in Hunder sand dunes (Shyok VAlley, Ladakh, India)
It is possible to riding camels in the Valley of the Shyok river, crossing the sand dunes of Hunder, the last point to be reached by tourists in the route to Pakistan from Leh through the Kardhung-La mountain pass.

Bactrian Double Hump Mongol Camels at Hunder Sand Dunes, Nubra Valley, Laddakh.
दोहरे कूब वाले मंगोल नश्ल के ये ऊंट भारतवर्ष में केवल लद्दाख की नुब्रा घाटी में ही देखने को मिलते हैं, अन्यंत्र कहीं नहीं। अतः इन्हें देखना भी रोमांचपूर्ण होता है।इन ऊंटों को देखे बगैर नुबरा घाटी की यात्रा अधूरी सी ही रहती है ।और यदि सवारी कर ली फिर तो क्या ही कहने। Double hump bactrian Mongol breed rare species camels in India are seen only at Hunder Sand Dunes of Nubra Valley around the bank of river Shyok in Ladakh. Nubra Valley is around an approximate altitude of 10000 ft/ 3048 meters after crossing the Khardungla Pass the gateway to Siachen glaciers and it is a cold desert best suited for these double hump camels.These double hump camels were brought to India through the ancient Silk Route and now are bred here.
