Huntly is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, formerly known as Milton of Strathbogie or simply Strathbogie. It had a population of 4,460 in 2004 and is the site of Huntly Castle. Its neighbouring settlements include Keith and Rothiemay. Both Huntly and the surrounding district of Gordon are named for a town and family that originated in the Border country.
Huntly is the historic home of the Gordon Highlanders regiment which traditionally recruited throughout the North-East of Scotland. Huntly has a primary school (Gordon Primary) and a secondary school (The Gordon Schools) beside Huntly Castle. There is an active cultural centre called Deveron Arts.
It is the home of the Deans bakers, which produce shortbread biscuits. In November 2007, Deans of Huntly opened their new visitor centre. There is also a falconry centre just outside the town which does flying displays in their visitor centre during the season between April and October.
There is salmon and trout fishing on the Rivers Deveron and Bogie, which are administered by the River Deveron Salmon Fisheries Board. Its other principal outdoor activities include golf, Nordic Skiing in Clashindarroch Forest, walking, mountain biking and Rugby. The local football team is Huntly F.C.. Falconry birds care & prevention
Catching a Redtail in its breeding chamber to deworming prevention care. Make sure to clear trachea well enough by pushing syringe down inside the trhoat 1.5 inch or so. Then inject panacur (0.24ml for average male Redtails) and hold by the beak to strech the neck so the liquid goes down into the crop. Check with your vet for protocol and frequency need. In this case it is only as prevention care as no type of worm has been found in feces with floating test at the clinic.

Tantallon Castle V1
Please like, share, subscribe and visit Facebook.com/scotlandabove for more photos and videos.
Mighty Tantallon Castle was built in the mid-1300s by a nobleman at the height of his power. In 1354, William Douglas came into possession of all his father's lands, as well as those of his uncle, 'the Good Sir James of Douglas', a close friend of King Robert the Bruce. The estates included the barony of North Berwick. In 1358 William was created Earl of Douglas, by which date the masons may already have begun to build his new stronghold.
In the 1380s the dynastic house of Douglas split into two branches, known as the 'Black' and the 'Red'. Tantallon passed to the junior line, the 'Red Douglases', earls of Angus. For the next 300 years, the earls of Angus held sway at the castle. They were one of the most powerful baronial families in Scotland.
During this period the castle endured three great sieges, in 1491, 1528 and 1651. The last, by Oliver Cromwell's army, resulted in such devastating destruction that the mighty medieval fortress was abandoned to the birds.
