Nuova vita alla ricerca sul Gran Sasso: ecco l’Osservatorio d’Abruzzo

Un passo decisivo per l’Abruzzo, che conferma la sua vocazione di Regione che ospita importanti enti di ricerca. E’ stato inaugurato ieri l'Osservatorio Astronomico d'Abruzzo, che unifica le due strutture dell’Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica già presenti sul territorio abruzzese: l'Osservatorio di Teramo e la Stazione Osservativa di Campo Imperatore. Presenti diverse autorità, tra cui il ministro per l'Istruzione l'Università e la Ricerca, la senatrice Valeria Fedeli, il presidente dell’Inaf Nicolò D’Amico e il governatore della Regione Abruzzo, Luciano D’Alfonso.

The National Institute for Astrophysics (Italian: Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, or INAF) is the most important Italian institution conducting scientific research in astronomy and astrophysics. Research performed by the scientific staff of the Institute ranges from the study of the planets and minor bodies of the Solar system up to the large-scale structure of the Universe and groups and clusters of galaxies on cosmological scales.
