Trekking in Nepal Himalaya - Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal
Everest base camp trekking in Nepal from Jiri trail was taken by Tenzing and Hilary to climb Mount Everest in 1953, and We did Everest base camp Trek and Kalapather trek taking the same trail in December 2014 with a group of friends/clients from Canada, Australia, UK and Ireland. We were planning to do all three passes trek, Everest base camp, Kalapather, Gokyo trek but it was snowing for 2 days so the passes got closed then we turn to do only Everest base camp and Kalapatther from the normal route.
Trekking in the Everest region starts either from the town of Jiri, accessible from Kathmandu by bus or private jeep, or from Lukla, a short flight from Kathmandu.
If you have a limited amount of time, then it is best to fly into Lukla from Kathmandu (although in order to avoid altitude sickness you will still need a minimum of 2 weeks to trek to Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar). But if you have the time it is well worth spending an extra week by walking in, which will give you ample time to improve your fitness and acclimatize for the high mountain trails. You will also enjoy the opportunity of getting off the beaten track and following in the footsteps of the early mountaineers on the old expedition route.

Everest Base Camp Trek 2017-2018 (DAY 1) December-January #Travel Gypsee
Day 1: Everest Base Camp Trek.
Lukla to Phakding.
So we planned the EBC trek in March’17 and decided will start in New year holidays. Landed in Kathmandu on 28th Dec’17, booked our flight tickets through Glory Himalayan club pvt. Ltd.. Ltd. They also arranged for our TIMS permit and porter from Lukla.
Flew to Lukla on 29th Dec’17 & started our most ambitious trek towards Everest base camp. It wasn’t our 1st trek in high mountains but since it was towards the world’s tallest, we walked in awe. Freezing temperatures, high altitudes & treacherous climbs were all soothed with the incredible panoramic view all around. Three hours trek to Phakding was our 1st day target and we reached there in the afternoon. Crossing a few cable bridges b/w the mountains, hiking in The Himalayas & absorbing every bit on the way. Time quickly passed and after a great Nepali lunch, we enjoyed the company of fellow trekkers in the Trekkers lodge. We had lost around 200mts in elevation while trekking to Phakding which was a great thing for our 1st night sleep. Retired to our bed at 9pm as dinner is served latest by 7pm in almost all the lodges we stayed in the mountains.
5layers of clothings and two thick blankets saved us from getting frozen lol.
And this is how our Day ended for tomorrow to begin????
Stay Tuned for the coming episodes and have fun.

Helicopter tour in the Himalayas of Nepal - Langtang National Park
Langtang Helicopter tour in Nepal : Recently, I visited Langtang after 3 three moths of earthquake hit Nepal. Langtang village was completely washed out by Avalanche when earthquake hit. I was very emotional when i met up with the people in Kyanjin Gompa where there are still few people living. Many of them lost their families and relatives.
Beside all these painful conditions, mountains were smiling so i could not stop smiling back to them :)
