Must Visit Places In Delhi | A Day Tour in Hop On Hop Off Bus | DesiGirl Traveller
Sightseeing tour is something we all wish to do when we visit to a new city. I love it too and that’s why I decided to take a sightseeing tour in Delhi – the capital city of India. I feel it is fun to explore your own city like a tourist. So, in this video, I have travelled in HOHO (Hop On/Hop Off) Bus to a few of the must-visit places of Delhi.
HOHO bus is a sightseeing tour (a part of Delhi Tourism) initiative to help the tourists explore the must-visit places of Delhi in the best possible manner. What makes HOHO bus tour different than organized tours by travel agencies is the fact that HOHO bus tour is inexpensive, flexible and doesn’t require a definite planning in advance. The ticket price is Rs 500 for 1 day trip in which you can travel to 20 tourists’ places in Delhi. There is a HOHO bus at every 40-45 mins at the dedicated bus stops in Delhi. The routes of Hop On Hop Off bus cover museums, monuments, gardens, galleries, hotels, bazaars, shopping malls etc. Overall, the service of this tour bus by Delhi Tourism is designed to offer a complete experience of the capital city of India to a tourist.
The ticket price doesn’t include tickets of monuments and other sites. You have to buy separate tickets for every monuments and sites of Delhi which you visit. Timing of the bus is: 7.50 am. 8.30 am, 9.10 am, 9.50 am, 10.30 am and so on. The bus starts from Baba Khadak Singh Marg. The earlier you start the more places you get to visit.
You can book the ticket either from the counter at HOHO Bus office at Baba Khadak Sign Marg, or buy it online from You can even buy entry ticket online for monuments like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort etc and save time.
How to reach HOHO Bus Office:
Metro – Nearest Metro Rajeev Chowk Metro Station. Exit Gate No 7 (8 mins walking distance) From Airport – 20 mins by Express Metro from T3 to Shivaji Stadium metro station, (4 mins from HOHO Centre)

TRAVELING AS IT IS! – is a compilation of raw video footages of my traveling adventure. My concept of traveling is riding public transportation, a road trip from home to a job destination or just a stroll around the neighborhood. You can hear, feel and see the “REAL” sights & sounds of a place or destination that are usually not tourist trail. There is a lot of street food to taste, adventures to encounter, lots of local friendly people to meet and sometimes, meeting fellow travelers wanting to share their own personal traveling experiences. ENJOYING LIFE - AS IT IS!

Daily life in India: Chaotic Traffic of Old Delhi, India
Chaos and incredible noise and traffic in the OLD CITY, INDIA
Old Delhi was founded by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as Shahjahanabad in 1639, and the city served as the Mughal capital till the last Emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar, was deposed and exiled by the British in 1858. Old Delhi survives because of its vibrant economy and historical significance.
Old Delhi stands for: density, congestion, seemingly chaotic public spaces where walking is often the fastest and best way to get around, and the presence of great socioeconomic diversity. Yes, Old Delhi is often noisy, has substantial air pollution, dirt and garbage, and has many street vendors and a few beggars and petty criminals, but many people, including some wealthy merchants, want to be there because of the great variety of economic opportunities that it offers in a relatively small area.
Focusing on the public spaces of Old Delhi, there is little or no formal spatial separation of street commerce from traffic, or of parking from vehicle movement. Similarly, there is no formal separation of pedestrians from vehicles, or of animals and humans, or of different types of vehicles. Most streets and alleyways are two-way, and vehicles and pedestrians adjust their movements and expectations to somehow get through, stopping, reversing, squeezing to the sides, but most often just relentlessly pushing forward. Chandni Chowk and Netaj Subhas Marg, the major north-south axis that separates the Red Fort from the remainder of Old Delhi, have central dividers to separate the traffic going in each direction, and some similar arrangements are present in the vicinity of the two rail stations, but elsewhere it is normal for vehicles to move over to the right side of the road whenever there is an obstacle to the left. The alleys are mainly used by pedestrians, animals, and two- or three-wheel vehicles,as larger vehicles are limited by the sheer narrowness of the alley spaces and awkward angles of the intersections.

48 Hours in India: Delhi, Agra & Jaipur
48 Hours in India: Delhi, Agra & Jaipur
India is a country that would take an entire lifetime to fully explore, so when we set our sights on just 48 hours in India, we knew it would be a challenge. However, knocking out the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Jaipur, Agra) in a weekend might just be possible.
TripVerse dared us to try and accomplish the feat and we took on the challenge, always up for proving adventure travel in exotic destinations is possible, even during a weekend trip.
If you know us, you know we take any chance we can to travel, but spending 48 hours in India has been on our list for a long time, and with so many short, cheap flights to India from Dubai, it was only a matter of time before we took on the challenge. Using a three day weekend, we flew direct to Delhi and had a car and driver waiting for us.
The Golden Triangle is one of the most popular tourist routes in India, allowing travelers to visit New Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur in just a few days time as all three cities are not only very close together, but vastly different.
We knew we wanted to end the trip with Delhi, so we immediately landed and headed straight to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, and tried to get there before sunrise to avoid the crowds.
The Taj Mahal is just one of those sights that you can't really believe you are looking at, something you see 1,000 times in pictures and movies your entire life. As we arrived early enough, the entire site was void of crowds and covered in a layer of mist and fog. It was incredible to watch this amazing building emerge from the fog into all its glory as the sun broke. Take your time, explore the area from all angles and take the time to just sit down and stare at one of the most amazing buildings ever built.
Remember: No camera tripods are allowed in, so make sure to check them at the entrance building before going in. You'll have to check your backpacks as well.
One your way out of the Taj, walking down the street towards the entrance, just passed the Oberoi Villas is a hotel called Taj Spice which you cannot miss. Without any of the expense or fuss of such a fancy hotel, you can easily get up to their amazing rooftop cafe and sit outside while enjoying the same beautiful view people pay thousands for at the Oberoi. Their food is delicious and beer cold - and cheap!
Check out our full 48 Hours in India itinerary on TripVerse for more detailed information on this and all the places we visited and recommend!
On our way out of town, we stopped at the beautiful Agra Fort, which would easily the be the most stunning site in Agra if it weren't for the Taj Mahal. It is well worth the visit and a fraction of the price of the Taj. ($1 instead of $10)
As soon as we wrapped up at the Agra Fort and the sun was setting it was on to Jaipur! We raced against the clock to make the 4-hour drive before it got to late and arrived at our hotel around 9 pm. A quick meal and we were off to sleep. We were exhausted but loving the adventure!
No 48 hours trip to India should be without a visit to Jaipur if you are anywhere close. It might just be my favorite city in India. There is just something different about being in Rajasthan, the Pink City, as it is called.
There is enough to fill 48 hours alone in Jaipur, but we really only had part of a day so we did all the exploring in the time we had and saw a ton! First, it was off to the old part of the city to visit the Jaipur Palace, one of the coolest and most detailed palaces we've ever seen. Make sure to make your way back to the hidden chamber with detailed and ornately decorated doorways honoring the four seasons. Make sure to have your camera ready, they are made for Instagram!
Heading out of Jaipur, stop and visit the Floating Palace and the Elephant Village. We weren't interested in paying to ride or wash the elephants, just wanted to see them. If you drive down the road from the Elephant place, there is an actual village where each family cares for 2-3 elephants and this is really cool to see. Huge elephants and people living in harmony is a wonderful thing.
Jumping back in the car with Prakash, we headed directly to the Amer (or Amber) Fort, which is one of the most amazing places we have ever seen that we never knew existed! TripVerse said we should make the trek all the way up the stairs to the top and thank god we did. The Amer Fort is SUCH an amazing place to explore and I am shocked we'd never heard of it before.
We could have gotten lost here for hours, so make sure you take the time to just wander through the hidden hallways and secret...

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
