Třeboň, Czech Republic: Fish Ponds and Peat Spas
More info about travel to Czech Republic: Centuries ago lake-builders of Třeboň employed ingenious techniques to transform flooding marshland into a clever combination of lakes, oak-lined dikes, and peat bogs. Today those peat bogs supply Třeboň's other claim to fame: its peat spa. Soaking in the black, smelly peat sludge is thought to cure aching joints and spines.

Prague in 3 days (Czech Republic)
Prague, Czech Republic.
72 hours (3-4 days) visiting and wandering around the capital of Czech Republic, Prague.
There's a lot of things to do and to see in Prague and the best thing is just to walk around and get lost in the city center.
There are amazing buildings and attractions everywhere: the Dancing House, Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas square, the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town square, the Lennon wall, the Jewish Quarter, St. Nicholas Church, Vysehrad fortress, Petrin Tower...
Apart from all these, my piece of advice would be also to take some time and go outside the city center to visit some quieter and beautiful places like the Troja Palace and the Botanical Garden of Prague.
P.S.
Have you ever seen and taken a Paternoster elevator lift?
It's also called Eastern Europe's Elevator of Death.
In Prague you can find it.
If you want to get a lot of insights and specific tips on what to do and visit in Prague, I suggest watching the YouTube channel Honest Guide.

Prague property boom is becoming a problem
(17 Oct 2017) The Czech Republic's capital has the hottest residential property market in Europe, and it's becoming a problem.
A 22 percent spike in prices over the past year is freezing out many locals from buying a home and the risk of a boom and bust in the market has forced the Czech Central Bank to step in to try to cool off demand.
While many countries in Europe have seen strong gains in real estate values recently, the Czech capital stands out, thanks to a combination of factors: a lack of new apartments, strong demand amid a growing economy and low borrowing rates, and a boom in investment buying to set up Airbnb businesses.
Developers blame Prague City Hall for not giving them enough permits for new construction projects, as well as red tape and rising taxes.
Tomas Pardubicky, Chief Executive of Finep Holding, says that while the city would need some 6,000 new flats a year — a number that is not disputed by Prague City Hall — far less than 2,000 permits were issued in last two years.
It would be enough to change two things, Pardubicky said.
To set up clear rules to build and to set up clear deadlines for approving permits.
Developers complain it takes up to eight years in some cases before their projects are approved.
Prague municipal officials note the developers are benefiting from high prices and are willfully keeping low the number of new projects.
That the developers are complaining makes me laugh, said Deputy Prague Mayor Petra Kolinska.
I can understand that they are sad that they are not able to react (to rising demand) as quickly as they would like. But no official or politicians are preventing them from submitting construction requests.
Unlike many European cities, Prague has a limited number of homes for rent, a result of Czechs' rush to own their own homes after the fall of Communist rule.
Kolinska said the city would like to change that and is working on 12 projects that will put at least some 1,000 apartments on the market to rent in five years.
The city is also planning to follow the example of other European cities like Berlin and crack down on unregulated short-term housing rentals like Airbnb.
A government report says some 18,000 apartments in Prague are used for the online service and over 50 percent of the business is controlled by firms that have hundreds or more flats.
Worried that new owners might not be able to pay back their mortgages if the economy weakens and they lose a job, or if the interest rates go up, as expected, the Czech Central bank has been taking steps to cool off the market.
It is, among other things, not allowing mortgages that cover the full cost of a property.

Salary and Cost of Living in Prague and Brno 2019
At the end of 2018, we interviewed expats with jobs in Prague and Brno. Coming from different backgrounds, they share their experiences and opinions - we interviewed them on how their salary is like, and how they feel about their current job.
They also compared their living standards to their wages, and the average wages in the Czech Republic. Only about 1/3 of the population earn more than the average wage amount. This indicator does not perfectly reflect the population’s living standards.
Relocation experts also gave their advice for people who are thinking to move to the Czech Republic, and how to do it smoothly with as little trouble as possible.
We also get an overview of what the Czech labor market looks like, as well as the Czech real estate situation - with helpful advice from experts.
