The Wonderworker Woman 08/12. Family curse. (English Subtitles)
Have you heard about St. Matrona of Moscow?
In Family Curse, the eighth episode of the documentary cycle of The Wonderworker, we see events involving Zinaida Zhdanova.
St. Matrona of Moscow spent most of her life without a permanent home. When she lived in the capital, she never stayed anywhere for a long period of time. Matrona understood that a guest such as herself could bring problems to hosts for political reasons.
But she stayed for a full seven years in the home of Zinaida Zhdanova in the Starokonyushenny Allely. Zinaida Zhandanova knew more than anyone else about the life of St. Matrona of Moscow due to the fact that she had known her since childhood.
Her input was indispensable in composing the canonical life if St. Matrona.
A few days before new year 1950, St. Matrona suddenly asked to move to another place. She only gave her new address to those that she trusted completely....to Zina and to her mother, Evdokia. Seeing St. Matrona leaving their house, Zina could not imagine that she herself would soon be imprisoned in the basements of the Lubyanka!
