An afternoon in the financial heart of Japan -- Marunouchi, Tokyo 「東京 丸の内」
A spring afternoon in the financial heart of Japan -- Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
Tokyo Japan
Video taken last 05 February 2019
Location 1 of this video:
First Avenue Tokyo Station
1 Chome-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda City, Tokyo 100-0005, Japan
One of our favorite places to go back to Tokyo is the First Avenue Tokyo Station for the food, souvenirs and lots of shops in this place.
Here we visited Stores like Doraemon, Rement, Kabukiyahonpo, Calbee Plus and many more.
We think that 1 day will not be enough to visit all the shops here. They have all the famous cartoon characters here and not only limited to japanese characters like Kabuki, Anime and Manga. Famous landmark also is the Tokyo Okashi Land for all your confectioners, freshly made products seen firsthand, gift shops and so many concept stores.
There’s also the Tokyo Ramen Street inside this Avenue but we decided to try the Camp Curry at Otemachi which is just walking distance and we didn’t regret it.
Location 2 of this video:
Toyosu Market
6 Chome-3 Toyosu, Koto City, Tokyo 135-0061, Japan
We didn’t enjoy tour visit here at Toyosu Market (The New Tsukiji Market) except for the Food Hall.
This is newly opened by the time we visited (around 4 months old) and probably we came at the wrong time of the day because wholesale viewing are done and we didn’t see much of it. Also It is off limits to visitors so you can only view it from their observation window when you come in the morning around 5am. This is really a big place so expect long walk to go from building to building.
We’ve tried the Tonkatsu Restaurant and beware it so crowded when you dine during lunch time.
Check out this link for other details:
Location 3 of this video:
Ippudo
Japan, 〒104-0061 Tokyo, Chuo City, Ginza, 4 Chome−10−3 セントラルビル 1F
First time to try Ippudo here in Tokyo although we have it also in our home country. We just want to compare the standard and quality. Basically same but you know the feeling when youre having it from the original source. You can really feel the depth of the flavor in every bowl of their tonkotsu ramen and the gyoza is also so good.

Matcha green tea preparation at Go Native Japan café (Tokyo) with Mariko Tanabe
Discover the preparation of matcha green tea at Go Native Japan café (Bakurocho district, Tokyo city, Japan). Check for ideas of Japanese activities in English then join a tea ceremony demonstration to learn, make and drink traditional Japanese tea :)
Seen during this video: Japanese lady in kimono dress, wagashi sweet shaped like a hydrangea, matcha green tea powder, golden tea caddy, tea scoop, bamboo whisk, red bowl, white bowl...
Special thanks to everyone involved in making this video!
SUBTITLES (original language):

* Go Native Japan is run by me (Mariko) and Hiroko.
* (Ms Ling-ying Wang, participant)
* My name is Wang Ling-ying. I am from Taiwan originally, and I am living in Japan now.
* Go Native Japan operates walking tours, cultural experiences and a café.
* (Make your own videos!)
* It is a kind of grassroots movement.
* For tea itself, it is also the gestures and the way she presents it. It is so elegant and she wears a kimono... I find it really very charming.
* I am very glad to experience the Japanese culture. Thank you very much!
* Thank you so much. We are looking forward to seeing you soon!
* (extras) That's good, that's enough. Now, place it here; place the chawan (tea bowl in Japanese) on your left palm again...

Tokyo Station (Tokyo, Japan)
Tokyo Station is a railway station in the Marunouchi business district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, near the Imperial Palace grounds and the Ginza commercial district.
Served by Shinkansen high-speed rail lines, Tokyo Station is the main intercity rail terminal in Tokyo. It is the busiest station in Japan in terms of number of trains per day (over 3,000), and the fifth-busiest in Eastern Japan in terms of passenger throughput. It is also served by many regional commuter lines of Japan Railways, as well as the Tokyo Metro network.
Tokyo Station & Marunouchi OAZO #presentingjapan
Thank you for watching my video. Tokyo Station has been the central point of the Japanese railway system since 1914. A five-year renovation was completed in 2012. This 100 year old train station looks as elegant and vibrant as ever, don't you think?

Tokyo train station
Tokyo Station (東京駅 Tōkyō-eki?) is a railway station in the Marunouchi business district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, near the Imperial Palace grounds and the Ginza commercial district.
Served by Shinkansen high-speed rail lines, Tokyo Station is the main intercity rail terminal in Tokyo. It is the busiest station in Japan in terms of number of trains per day (over 3,000), and the fifth-busiest in Eastern Japan in terms of passenger throughput.[1] It is also served by many regional commuter lines of Japan Railways, as well as the Tokyo Metro network.
The main station façade on the western side of the station is brick-built, surviving from the time when the station opened in 1914. The main station consists of 10 island platforms serving 20 tracks, raised above street level running in a north-south direction. The main concourse runs east-west below the platforms.
The Shinkansen lines are on the east (or Yaesu) side of the station, along with a multi-story Daimaru department store.
Underground are the two Sōbu/Yokosuka line platforms serving four tracks (five stories below ground level) to the west of the station; the two Keiyō Line platforms serving four tracks are four stories below ground some hundreds of meters to the south of the main station with moving walkways to serve connecting passengers.
The whole complex is linked by an extensive system of underground passageways which merge with surrounding commercial buildings and shopping centres.
