Iron Horse Trail--Part One.wmv
The Iron Horse Trail is a paved rail-trail in the Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo. IT provides a good commuter bicycle route from south central Kitchener to downtown Waterloo. While is it seems to be well maintained, it needs one very obvious safety upgrade near Victoria Park. Here it cross over a still active railroad line on an angle making it easy to catch a wheel and fall. This crossing should be changed to 90 degrees for improved safety. Hundreds of cyclists, and walkers use this trail daily.

Iron Horse Trail--Part Two.wmv
Many bicycle commuters find the Iron Horse Trail a convenient and safe way to travel from south-central Kitchener, passing close to down town Kitchener and then further into downtown Waterloo -- or the reverse. Other recreational cyclists, joggers, and hikers use the trail routinely to keep active and healthy. It is wonderful to see parents and families showing their children the trail and helping the kids explore their surroundings while gaining cycling experience.

Begun in 1997, the 74 kilometre Walter Bean Trail traces the Grand River from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, past Kitchener-Waterloo, and may eventually reach West Montrose. The Woerner trailway follows the scenic Woolner Flats meander along the eastern margin of Kitchener, as this February slideshow depicts. Begin Sweet World by composer Bill Douglas, provides a lovely musical accompaniment.
