Isla Partida y Espíritu Santo.
Isla Espíritu Santo es una isla en el Golfo de California, del estado mexicano de Baja California Sur. Está conectada a la Isla Partida por istmo estrecho. La orografía de ambas es completamente diferente a las otras islas del Golfo. La isla tiene un área de tierra de 80.763 km² la duodécima isla más grande de México. El área terrestre de la Isla Partida es de 15.495 km².
El área es protegida por la Unesco como biosfera, y su importancia como un destino ecoturístico es el factor principal. Las islas están ambas deshabitadas. Las islas son parte del municipio de La Paz.

This was definitely the best day of the entire trip in Baja California Sur. We went on a boat trip in La Paz to two islands called Isla Espiritu Santo and Isla Partida. Once we arrived we have an amazing time snorkeling with the friendly sea lions for about 30 minutes. Later one we went to an amazing little beach called Ensenada Grande and had some more amazing snorkeling experiences. This is a must do activity if your in Baja!

Welcome to the most beautiful beach in Mexico- Playa Ensenada on Isla Espirítu in La Paz Baja California Sur! The Isla Espirítu area is protected as part of the Área de Protección de Flora y Fauna - Islas del Golfo de California and is an important eco-tourism destination. It was declared part of a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1995. Ensenada Grande beach, on Isla Partida, was voted the most beautiful beach in Mexico by The Travel Magazine.
How did we get to Isla Espirítu? We used a local tour company called Punta Baja. We were not working in collaboration with Punta Baja- but we would highly recommend them. They had great prices and excellent service.

Guadalupe Island, Mexico is a small volcanic island located in the Pacific about 165 miles (260 km) off the west coast of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and the boat journey time to the island is 18 to 20 hours. Guadalupe Island has the best Great White Shark diving anywhere in the world with 100+ foot visibility and experienced dive leaders.

Sharks are much older than dinosaurs. Their ancestry dates back more than 400 million years, and they are one of evolution’s greatest success stories. These animals are uniquely adapted to their ocean environment with six highly refined senses of smell, hearing, touch, taste, sight, and even electromagnetism. As the top predators in the ocean, great white sharks (Carcharodon carcharias) face only one real threat to their survival: US.
The assaults are many. By-catch: the accidental killing of sharks by fishermen's longlines and trawlers. Illegal poaching: selling shark fins for soup. Illegal hunting: sports fishing for shark jaws as trophies. Nets: placed along coastlines to keep sharks away from beaches. Pollution: toxins and heavy metals that build up in the shark's body. In some areas great white populations have plummeted by over 70%. If not stopped, it could lead to the extinction of this ancient species.
ONLY 3500 GREAT WHITE SHARKS LEFT WORLDWIDE. An estimated 100 million sharks are killed every year with fins from up to 73 million used for shark fin soup, primarily to supply the market in Mainland China. A pair of shark fins can sell for as much as US$700 per kg in Asia.

Islas de México - Isla Guadalupe I (19/06/2017)
Únete a una increíble expedición científica a la Reserva de la biosfera Isla Guadalupe, donde el doctor Mauricio Hoyos, a partir de biopsias, realiza importantes investigaciones para conocer la genética, alimentación y cantidad de metales pesados que se están encontrando en los tiburones blancos.
Uno de los sorprendentes hallazgos fue un joven tiburón llamado Meli, con una protuberancia al costado izquierdo de su cabeza que, luego de analizarse en varias muestras, permitió saber que posee células cancerígenas. Asimismo, el biólogo Omar Santana realizó un tracking, es decir: colocó un rastreador a un tiburón blanco para darle seguimiento durante 48 horas y verificar sus interesantes desplazamientos. Por su parte, el biólogo Marc Aquino tomó muestras de pelo de lobos y elefantes marinos que habitan en la isla para saber de qué se alimentan y qué tan contaminada está su cadena alimenticia.
A todo esto se suma el excelente trabajo del reconocido fotógrafo de naturaleza Claudio Contreras Koob, quien capturó con su lente hermosos paisajes, así como a variadas especies endémicas de la Isla de Guadalupe.
