ISTANBUL: Safe for Female Travel? Affordable for Vegetarians!
&
This video is based on the initial days of my trip to Turkey. I stayed in Dongyang Hotel near Sultan Ahmet area in Istanbul for a few days. You will get an idea about the cost of a hotel or hostel in Istanbul in this video. I visited a supermarket called Sok in the Sirkeci area of Istanbul. I have shared the cost of things I bought from there. If you are also a vegetarian budget traveller like me, this part of the video would be helpful for you. I visited a souvenir shop near Sultan Ahmet called Ottoman Art in Sirkeci, bought some souvenirs from there. Thereafter I met some volunteers who help tourist visiting Istanbul. Watch the interesting conversation with the school girls about India, Bollywood, Amir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Indian soap operas like Utaran. They revealed some interesting things about their mother and grandmothers in this context ;) I also visited a local mobile sim shop near Sultan Ahmet to find the cheapest mobile networks available in Turkey. Then you'll watch interesting sessions with Turkish & Afghan fruit sellers and at the end, you will see me travelling in Istanbul tram to Kabatas for visiting Taksim Square. There also I met an interesting tour guide who helped me reach Taksim Square and understand a few basics about Turkey.

Istanbul In A Day with Bosphorus Cruise, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque & Basilica Cistern
See all of Istanbul in one day (or 1 min 49 secs) on this small group full day tour, with an expert local guide to show you the best secret rooftops and to teach you the history behind Istanbul's top attractions. Check out Walks of Italy's 'Istanbul In A Day' tour here:
Your tour starts at the Blue Mosque, Istanbul where you meet your expert local tour guide. They'll lead you inside for a guided tour, where they'll point out the stunning tile work, columns and stained glass windows of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, explaining how locals came to refer to it as the Blue Mosque.
Next up is a Hagia Sophia tour. With pre-reserved tickets you'll skip long lines to get straight inside this beautiful structure. Your Istanbul tour guide will explain to you how how the building was once a church, then a mosque and is now the official Hagia Sophia Museum, also know as the Aya Sofya; demonstrating the power the rulers of the Ottoman Empire held.
Next stop is the Basilica Cistern where you'll once again have privileged access. Your local Istanbul guide will lead you through a special entrance here, past long lines for Basilica Cistern tickets, and straight into its cool, dark interior. Here you'll learn about Constantinople in the time of the Romans and spot eerie underwater Medusa heads (the meaning of which your tour guide will make clear).
You'll take a break for lunch next (included in the price) at an authentic Turkish restaurant, where you'll chow down on kebab meats, salads and local desserts. Then it's on to the Grand Bazaar, Istanbul.
Traveling with a Grand Bazaar guide has its perks, as you'll quickly learn. They'll teach you how to navigate the 61 streets of the bazaar and point out the different shopping areas - giving you tips on bartering with locals. We'll take a special detour after the bazaar to a secret rooftop view, known only to locals, then it's on to the Spice Bazaar for a special pre-organised experience of the local produce; where you can touch, taste and smell teas and spices without the pressure to buy (a rarity in Istanbul's Spice Bazaar!)
The next activity is a Bosphorus cruise by private boat. Traveling the distance between Europe and Asia, your guide will point out top sights like the Bosphorus Bridge, Dolmabahce Palace and countless mosques. With only 30 people MAXIMUM on your boat and an expert Istanbul guide on hand, you'll get so much more from your Bosphorus cruise.
You'll disembark on the other side of the Bosphorus Bridge and walk the beautiful streets of the area up to the Galata Tower. Lines here are long and impossible to skip so we won't go inside, opting instead for yet another of the best rooftops in Istanbul, for stunning views over the Bosphorus and all the city.
This Istanbul in a day tour showcases the top attractions of Istanbul in just one day; with small groups and authentic local Istanbul guides to ensure that you get the most from every precious second.

Best of Istanbul Tour with Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque & Basilica Cistern
Explore the three top attractions in Istanbul on this small group tour, with pre-reserved tickets and skip the line access. See the tour here:
Your tour starts at the Blue Mosque, where your expert local Istanbul guide leads you inside. Take off your shoes and don your headscarf (the rules for visiting the Blue Mosque) to explore its stunning interior, lined with beautiful tiles, soaring columns and beautiful stained glass windows. Your guide will teach you the history of Sultan Ahmed Mosque, explaining why locals refer to it as the Blue Mosque.
Then it's on to the Hagia Sophia, also known as Ayasofya - once a church, then a mosque and now Istanbul's most impressive museum. Together you'll spot Christian iconography sitting alongside Islamic symbols and learn how the rulers of the time influenced the purpose of this sacred building. Of all the buildings in Istanbul, Hagia Sophia offers perhaps the best insight into the history and culture of Istanbul.
The last stop of the morning is the Basilica Cistern, once a water storage tank for Constantinople, during Roman rule. Here you'll once again benefit from having an Istanbul tour guide on hand. You'll use the guide entrance to enter, passing long lines, to access the fascinating underground, full of medusa heads and carp.
In just one morning, our Best of Istanbul tour introduces you to all the top attractions in Istanbul - without the hassle of waiting in long ticket lines and with an expert local tour guide to enrich your experience.
First Thoughts On Turkey - 48 Hours in Istanbul
We are back in Istanbul, ready to spend an exciting 48 hours in this incredible Turkish city!
Our first stop is to meet up with some friends for breakfast before making our way over to the Grand Bazaar for some exploring and taste testing. We tried our first Turkish delight and Turkish coffee and wow they go so well together... you need to try them together!
Next up we went on a ferry ride to the Asian Continent which is still apart of Istanbul city - the only city in the world to be split across 2 continents. On our way back we made a stop over at Galata Tower to watch the sunset.
The next morning we got up bright and early to explore the Blue Mosque - the very first mosque we have ever been inside before one more sip of tea with the most insane view of the Hagia Sophia museum before checking into our new hotel so we can meet our Intrepid Travel crew.
Spots we visited:
* Breakfast - Van Kahlvalti
* The Grand Bazaar
* Turkish Coffee Spot - Sark Kahvesi
* Ferry to Asian side of Istanbul
* Galata Tower for sunset
* The Blue Mosque
* Seven Hills Hotel for Turkish tea and insane view of Hagia Sophia

Istanbul Üsküdar Walking Tour in 4k! Istanbul Travel Guide 2019
Üsküdar is a historical neighborhood of Istanbul with large population and vivid social and cultural life. located in the Asian side of the city, this neighborhood is not known to many visitors. Let's look around and see if it worth visiting!
BEST VIEW OF ISTANBUL | Cheapest Mobile SIM in Turkey
&
The cheapest fare from Europe to Asia is 30 Rupees. Sounds interesting! But this is what people pay to travel between Asia and Europe in Istanbul. Ferry ticket cost for Uskudar is 2.6 Lira which comes to around 30 Indian Rupees. The water body is called Bosphorus which divides Istanbul into two parts. Uskudar is on the Asian side of Istanbul. So if you are looking for a cheap Bosphorus tour then take Istanbul Ferry tour which I have shown in this video. This is the cheapest way to feel the Bosphorus ferry trip in Istanbul. After the Bosphorus ride, I went to visit çamlıca hill also called çamlıca tepesi in Turkish. Camlica Tepesi is the highest point in Istanbul so this is the best viewpoint in Istanbul to get panoramic views of the city. I visited in the evening and found it is the best sunset point in Istanbul. Watch this video to know how to reach Uskudar on a ferry and thereafter how to reach Camlica Tepesi. Also, I purchased a local sim from Turk Telecom for 80 Lira which was the cheapest sim price in Istanbul until then.
