Prezza is an Italian Restaurant named after the ancient Italian town where Chef Anthony Caturano's grandmother was born. Nestled in the mountains of Italy's Abruzzi region, the tiny village offered its people few choices in their diet. Pork, polenta and vegetables became staples on the dining table. Families were forced to create unique, flavorful dishes with the foods born from their land.
Today, Prezza enhances this peasant style of Italian cooking by incorporating foods from other Mediterranean regions into the Restaurant's menu. With old-world style and heavy emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients, Prezza brings overflowing dishes of robust flavors and rich portions to Boston's North End. The menu is constantly changing to include seasonal dishes, so guests will always find unique additions alongside house favorites.
Yes, an unparalleled dining experience isn't complete without the perfect wine to accompany a meal, which is why we put such a heavy emphasis on our wine list. Our restaurant's collection boasts over 8,000 bottles and more than 900 labels. Since the menu is primarily Mediterranean, wines from Italy and France are prominent.
At Prezza, we want guests to feel welcome and at home. So whether you are coming in to hang out with friends at our lively bar, on a date or dining with business associates, I am confident you will find the Prezza experience exceptional. We look forward to seeing you!

Abruzzi, Italy - Part 1
On a rather cloudy day, the Apennine Mountains in Abruzzi, Italy, seem to be shrouded in mystery. Hidden away in the central Italian region are many secrets, some dating back to the time of the pre-Roman Etruscans, who brought the language of Latin to Rome.
Then, the sun comes out...and all is well.

Boston's Neighborhoods: The North End
- The North End, one of Boston's most culturally rich neighborhoods, is often referred to as Boston's Little Italy. This one-square-mile waterfront community is known for its fine dining, amazing cafes, delicious gelato, and colorful personalities. Surrounded by water on three sides, the North End was an early hub of commercialism and was the site of the first settlements in the new city of Boston. Here, the streets are narrow and compact, and there is history -- Old North Church, Paul Revere's house, burial grounds -- seemingly around every corner. The neighborhood is packed with restaurants, virtually all of them Italian, and the locals carefully maintain their deeply-rooted ties to Italian culture.
If you have a sweet tooth, North End bakeries are abundant. With small tables, it's easy to linger over coffee, gelato and a myriad of pastries, while sipping a Campari. Mike's Pastry has become legend... and so have the crowds... even US Presidents have visited.
Maria's Pastry Shop is near the fountains along the Greenway, and it's where the locals go for homemade Italian cakes, cookies, candies, breads and Marzipan shaped like fruit.
A highly desirable residential area for professionals who work nearby, the neighborhood also is a major attraction for tourists and Bostonians alike, who come seeking the best in Italian cuisine and to enjoy the decidedly Italian feel of the region. Hanover and Salem Streets, the two main streets of this bustling historic neighborhood, are lined with wonderful restaurants, cafes and shops, selling a variety of delectable edible goods. A trip to Boston would not be complete without including a meal at one of North End's over one hundred fine Italian restaurants.
The residents of the North End are young professionals attracted to the area by its proximity to their downtown offices, by the North End's narrow streets and brick buildings, by its safety and sense of community, as well as by its decidedly European ambience. Although Italians presently make up less than half of the population of the North End, its old world Italian flavor is preserved the region's language, music, cuisine, and customs.
Although the North End is part of Boston's original area of settlement, the bulk of the architecture one sees there today dates from the late nineteenth to early 20th centuries. The famous Great Brink's Robbery took place in the North End, and in recent years the North End has been the setting for numerous Hollywood movies.
Hanover street is always abuzz with activity.... trucks double parked unloading cases of wine and crates of vegetables for the restaurants lining the street as gelato eating tourists saunter past elderly folks sipping espresso and speaking in Italian. Flowers blooming in window boxes, cobblestone streets, and scents of garlic, pecorino, and cured meats waft from the open doorways.
Christopher Columbus Park sits on the Southern Edge of the North End, with great views of the waterfront wharves and downtown Boston. Several parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted's firm in 1894 sit along the waterfront. Designed as multipurpose recreation areas, they offer baseball diamonds, basketball, softball, and three regulation bocce ball courts. Bocce Ball is Italian Lawn Bowling! A harborwalk, public pool and a popular indoor ice skating rink round out the complex.
Just a short walk away from the North End is North Station (a major transportation hub for Amtrak as well as MBTA commuter trains, buses, as well as the Orange and Green lines. It has direct access to the TD Garden (home of the Celtics and Bruins),
Every summer, The North End is the place to be for outdoor food and fun. Visitors and locals come from near and far to join together almost every weekend each summer for festivals or feasts. These feasts are celebrations for Italian immigrants and the many local religious societies in the area.
The feasts pay tribute to their honored saints from Italy and hold different meanings for each group. It is basically one big block party or carnival, right in the streets of the North End. Beyond incredible and abundant food at every turn, there are processions throughout the area. Members of the societies carry the statues around to honor their saints and collect money.
Housing in the North End consists of mainly multifamily buildings and condominiums. Recently, many old warehouses have been converted into luxurious lofts and condos.
