Morioka Station (盛岡駅 Morioka-eki) is a railway station in the city Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, Japan operated by JR East.
Morioka Station is a major junction station, and is served by both the Tōhoku Shinkansen and the Akita Shinkansen. It is located 535.3 km from Tokyo Station. Local JR East services are provided by the Tohoku Main Line, Tazawako Line and Yamada Line, all of which terminate at Morioka Station. The station is also the southern terminus of the third-sector Iwate Ginga Railway Line.
The station has three elevated island platforms for Shinkansen services, and four island platforms for local services. The station has a Midori no Madoguchi staffed ticket office.
Morioka (盛岡市 Morioka-shi) is the capital city of Iwate Prefecture located in the Tōhoku region of northern Japan. As of 1 October 2016, the city had an estimated population of 296,739, and a population density of 335 persons per km2. The total area of the city is 886.47 square kilometres (342.27 sq mi).

JR Hiraizumi Station (JR 平泉駅）, Tohoku Region, Japan
JR Hiraizumi Station (JR 平泉駅） is located in the Tohoku Region, north of both Sendai and Fukushima cities. Various temples and other sites in Hiraizumi city have been recently designated as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. Hiraizumi city can also be reached by a bus from the JR Ichinoseki station but there is a local train also that runs between JR Ichinoseki and JR Hiraizumi station.
JR Hiraizumi station is a great example of a sleepy little train station, heavily used by the tourists.
JR Ichinoseki Station （JR いちのせき駅）, Tohoku Region, Japan
JR Ichinoseki station （JR いちのせき駅） is located in the Tohoku region of northeastern Japan and close to the Fukushima and Sendai cities.
Many foreign tourists do not know about this city and rarely visit them. But recently the temples and other historical sites at nearby Hiraizumi city have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites, so the tourist population will increase to Ichinoseki and Hiraizumi.
Ichinoseki Station is located on the Tohoku Shinkansen route and is serviced by the Tsubasa Bullet Trains. It takes about three hours to get to Ichinoseki station from Tokyo. There is a JR line you can take from JR Ichinoseki to JR Hiraizumi station. There are buses also that take the tourists from JR Ichinoseki to the Hiraizumi world heritage sites.

Downtime for the Yamanote and Keihin Tohoku lines
On Nov. 16, sections of Tokyo's major railways will be suspended. It will the first time since the Yamanote Line was founded in 1987 that JR East has had to suspend service due to construction.

Ride the Onsen Train in North Japan - Toreiyu Tsubasa - Go!Go!Tohoku!!

Riding a Train in Tohoku Region, Hiraizumi to Ichinoseki, Japan
The temples and other sites in Hiraizumi district are designated as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites. Here is a video of my train trip from the JR Hiraizumi Station to the JR Ichinoseki Station. This is a local train, usually riding through a nice scenic valley. JR Ichinoseki is where you get the Shinkansen back to Tokyo.

JR Yamadera Station （JR 山寺駅）, Near Yamadera Temple, Tohoku Region, Japan
JR Yamadera Station （JR 山寺駅） is a small station between the Sendai city and the Yamagata City. This station is used to get to the Yamadera Temple in the Tohoku Region. This line which services JR Yamadera Station between Sendai and Yamagata is called Sanzen Line.
The locations around JR Yamadera Station are extremely scenic with mountains, valleys and rivers.
