Since March 2006, Daejanggeum Mini Theme Park is located in Jeju Folk Village, offering various things for visitors to see. Many scenes from episodes 27 through 32 of the historical drama, where Jang-geum studied medicine as a maid filmed in Jeju Folk Village. To fit the Daejanggeum theme, separate locations have joined together, and are now open to tourists. Visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery of Jeju at this amusement park. Korea Travel.

Seongeup Folk Village (성읍민속마을) is a living museum that showcases the traditional lives of Jeju residents. Here, you can see traditional houses with lava stone gates, a pigsty - which also traditionally functions as the lavatory in the past, as well as stone sculptures.
A visit to Seongeup Folk Village makes an interesting glimpse and introduction into Jeju culture.

Jeju Folk Village (제주민속촌)
With a total of 117 houses and facilities, Jeju Folk Village has restored the scenes of the village to that of the 1890’s. Among them are Mountain Village, Hill-Country Village, Fishing Village and Shamanism Village. On land of more than 40 acres it has been reconstructed following long-term research and analysis of experts. Some of the extensive range of folk items on display are 1,627 woodenware, 1,046 bamboo ware, 1,699 earthenware, 1,544 porcelain ware, 765 wax candles, 921 ironware and 579 other items. The Jeju Folk Village is the island’s main tourist attraction where customs of the old days can be explored.
Since March 2006, Daejanggeum Mini Theme Park located at the Jeju Folk Village, offers various things for visitors to see. Aside from the UNESCO World Heritage of Seongsan Ilchulbong, Jeju also offer the taste of its traditional home at Jeju Folk Village Museum. There, you'll find the iconic Jeju Black Pig! Super cute! And hairy too! (hehe). Watch how Sis Lola tried to steal the oranges from the tree. And how jealous she is when the korean women feed her husband a candy. It's hilarious! The journey continue to Mount Hallasan. We got chance to play with the snow at the bottom of Mount Hallasan. Unforgetable moment. Our day couldn't get any better when we had halal Indian food. Yes! There's halal restaurant here in Jeju! Hope you guys like it!

10 Udo Island Situated off the eastern coast of Jeju Island, Udo Island was named because it resembles a lying cow. Jeju Island Korea Travel Guide. Festivals in Korea. Jeju Fire Festival is held at Saebyeol Oreum, an uninhabited mountain that is used annually for festivals. The festival is officially held since 1997 on Jeju Island. Starting from a tradition that aims to eliminate pests for farm animals.
In this festival, the tourists will be spoiled a variety of events including fireworks, Torch Parade, Circle Dance and more. There is also a variety of culinary and souvenir menus that are offered by local residents.

Jeju do is the foremost island in Korea in terms of size and unique climate. The island province consists of Jeju and its adjacent islands. Geographically, its relative isolation from the mainland resulted in a unique dialect and lifestyle of its own. The natural beauty of Mt. Hallasan and the surrounding sea make Jeju an ideal resort island. With the 21st century’s arrival, Jeju City is transforming itself into an International Free City characterized by the free flow of human and financial capital.
Mt. Hallasan is the main peak of Jeju do, a shield shaped volcano formed on the continental shelf in the Yellow Sea. It is the highest peak of South Korea (1950 meters above the base level) and the symbol of Jeju Island. The Hallasan Natural Reserve makes up of various arctic alpine plants and a forest of the Korean fir, which makes a graceful scene, and the Baeknokdam, the Crater Lake on the top of the Mt. Hallasan, adds the scenic beauty. You can meet totally different appearance of Mt. Hallasan according to the 4 seasons.
Jeju Island is well known for its sweet tangerine. The harvesting season of the tangerine is from late fall to winter. You can also taste the Hallabong, a kind of mandarin with higher sugar content and a bigger size than the tangerine, grown in Jeju Island. The best season for the Hallabong is from February to March.

I know that everyone recommends eating black pork, but in this video we'll go beyond black pork to find some food that you may not have heard of before on those jeju food guide blogs. From fresh raw seafood, to tangerines, to abalone everything and silver belt fish, I'll share with you where you can find the best Korean food in Jeju! Today on Jeju Island, we drive down south and try a sizzling stone bowl of Abalone Rice and Seafood Soup, accompanied by an array of the common Korean side dishes such as napa cabbage kimchi. Courtney and I go searching for the Jeju specialty, galchi. Galchi is a long skinny silver fish that dies as soon as it is caught. So, it is very rare to find this fish to eat anywhere, let alone fresh enough to be consumed raw. But Jeju is known for serving this fish in many ways, including raw. Courtney and I eat the raw galchi, only available on Jeju Island, and discuss the upcoming Gilmore Girls season.
