I went to Kyoto Shirakawa dori to check cherry blossoms blooming. It was about 50%. Shirakawa Dori is in GION area and the most beautiful ancient street with canal. The water comes from BIWA lake. There is no overhead electrical wires. Shirakawa Dori means white river street. From end of march to mid April, cherry blossoms (SAKURA) bloom. Mostly, early April is the best season. The best time is just before sunset as the sun light illuminates them.
