DAIVA SANNIDHI-UJJAIN TEMPLES-THE GOD WHO DRINKS LIQUOR AT SHREE KALBHAIRAV TEMPLE, UJJAIN
The Kal Bhairav or Kala Bhairava Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Kal Bhairav, the guardian deity of the city. Located on the banks of the Shipra River, it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of devotees daily. Liquor is one of the offerings made to the temple deity. Every day, hundreds of devotees offer liquor to the deity. The devotees hand over the liquor bottles to the priest, who pours the liquor in a saucer. He then offers prayers, and takes the saucer near the deity's lips, which have a slit. He tilts the plate a bit, and the liquor starts disappearing. About one-third of the bottle is returned to the devotee as prasad. The temple priests as well as several devotees claim that the slit doesn't have any cavity, and that the deity miraculously swallows the liquor offered to him.

हमारे भारत में अनेक ऐसे मंदिर है जिनके रहस्य आज तक अनसुलझे है। इन्हीं में शामिल है महाकाल की नगरी उज्जैन का काल भैरव मंदिर। इसकी सबसे बड़ी विशेषता यह है की यहां पर भगवान काल भैरव साक्षात रूप में मदिरा पान करते है। मंदिर में जैसे ही शराब से भरे प्याले काल भैरव की मूर्ति के मुंह से लगाते है देखते ही देखते शराब के प्याले खाली हो जाते है।
6000 साल पुराने मंदिर की ये है कहानी
मध्य प्रदेश के उज्जैन शहर से करीब 8 कि.मी. दूर, क्षिप्रा नदी के तट पर बसा कालभैरव मंदिर 6000 साल पपुराना बताया जाता है।
कहां जाती है शराब जानने के लिए अंग्रेज ने किया ये काम
कहा जाता है कि बहुत साल पहले एक अंग्रेज अधिकारी द्वारा इस बात की गहन तहकीकात करवाई गई कि आखिर शराब जाती कहां है। उसने प्रतिमा के आसपास काफी गहराई तक खुदाई करवाई लेकिन जब नतीजा कुछ भी नहीं निकला तो वो अंग्रेज भी काल भैरव का भक्त बन गया।

The present-day temple structure was built over the remains of an older temple. The original temple is believed to have been built by an obscure king named Bhadrasen. It has been mentioned in the Avanti Khanda of the Skanda Purana. Images of Shiva, Parvati, Vishnu and Ganesha belonging to the Paramara period (9th-13th century CE) have been recovered from the place. The temple walls were once decorated with Malwa paintings. However, only traces of these paintings are visible now.
The present-day temple structure shows Maratha influence. According to the local tradition, after the Maratha defeat in the Third Battle of Panipat (1761 CE), the Maratha general Mahadaji Shinde offered his pagri (turban) to the deity, praying for victory in his campaign to restore the Maratha rule in North India. After successfully resurrecting Maratha power, he carried out restoration of the temple.
A replica of the temple has been established on the Bhuj-Mundra road in Gujarat.

Also at this temple of Ujjain, liquor is offered as a part of the ritual to Kal Bhairav & then distributed as prasad..It is the only stone Idol of Indian God, which drinks several & some times hundreds of bottles of liquor in a single day. You may find it amazing & weird, but it is absolutely true. What happens is that the temple priest keeps the dish plate filled with liquor near the mouth of the deity and the stone image of deity starts sucking the liquor from the plate & slowly the liquor starts decreasing and the priest takes back the plate when all the liquor is finished. As you can see in the video, all this is true, what would you say to this type of Miracle of God..
