Kameido Katori shrine: God of sports
Founded in 665 Katori jinja is the oldest shrine in Koto-ku, Tokyo. The shrine is dedicated to the God of sports. Many worshippers pray here for victory in athletic events.
Every year in this shrine it’s hold the Kachiya Festival, a traditional samurai procession.
Ebisu, the deity of prosperity, and Daikokuten, the deity who fought the forces of evil, are enshrined here.
The shrine also honors, among other things, the “Kameido Daikon” (giant Japanese radish).
This radish grew in the Kameido area of Tokyo even during times of drought. So this shrine lets people “thank” the Kameido Daikon for helping to keep the people of Japan from going hungry during hard times.

Japan Shrine Festival
This is a local festival near my house that happens every year. They carry the shrine around the neighborhood all day, giving god a tour, then lock him up for another year.

古代の杜の観月コンサート
遠賀町では、中秋の名月の頃、遺跡のある杜で『観月コンサート』をします。このコンサートはボランティアが手作りで行っていますが、10年目を迎えた今年は去る９月１３日に開催しました。
今年は、ゲストに吉田兄弟と一緒に活動している山崎箜山さんの「尺八」や藤井絵里さんの「笙」で盛り上がりました。
会場までは、手作りの行灯が道案内してくれます。２６２名の方々がお越しくださいました。また来年もやりますよ！
