Chester Lake Hike, Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada
A quick video showing the Chester Lake Hike in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. We didn't see any grizzly bears this time, but did see an area where they had been digging, which is shown in the video.
Cat Creek Falls Hike in Kananaskis | Journey Alberta
In this video I travel out to the Highwood section of Kananaskis to do the Cat Creek Falls hike! It's a relatively short trail, but still offers great views of the valley, a waterfall, and some interpretive signs that talk about the logging and coal mining history of the area. This hike is definitely up there for me as one of the hikes to take friends/family from out of town on, since it's a well rounded hike in terms of what they will see. It's also a family friendly hike too!

Aric from the Cyclemeisters bike club in Calgary took me out for one of the most solid loops I’ve ever done near Kananaskis Country. Tons of hard climbing, awesome flow, and terrifying chunk.

Canada Vlog: Upper Kananaskis Lake, Canadian Rockies, Alberta Province!
instagram.com/timandglo
June 29, 2019
This vlog features our first hike in Canada! Upper Kananaskis Lake is in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in a region known as Kananaskis Country. It's situated between the famous Banff and the travel hub of Calgary city, so it's often overlooked. This was our introduction to Kananaskis Country, and we were blown away by the beauty. We went back a couple times throughout the summer and fall, so more vlogs to come!
We had originally planned to hike the trail to Sarrail Ridge and Rawson Lake, which departs from the Upper Kananaskis Lake parking lot. To our dismay, we learned upon arrival that the trail was closed due to bear activity. We decided to walk the trail around Upper Kananaskis Lake instead, and we weren't disappointed! It's 15-km around the entire lake. We did the first third plus the extra 2-km round trip trail to Hidden Lake. You get stunning views of the lake all along the trail. The trail is mostly flat, so it's great for families with young children. You also get a fantastic view of the lake from the parking lot, in case you're not up for a longer walk. We saw a lot of people having a picnic at the tables next to the parking lot. We'd love to go back with our own packed lunch! We also hope to go back in 2020 to hike the Sarrail Ridge / Rawson Lake trail.

Mt. Lorette Ponds Kananaskis Day Trip | Journey Alberta
I head out to the Bow Valley Provincial Park section of Kananaskis for a day trip to Mt. Lorette Ponds with my girlfriend. While there we start a fire and cook up some food like hot dogs and marshmallows. Luckily by this point the snow has receded a lot, so walking on the pathways is easier for my girlfriend and her broken ankle. We take a walk after eating by the ponds and admire the beautiful scenery of Kananaskis.

Hiking Wasootch Peak - Kananaskis Country - Travel Alberta
Sitting East of Mount Lorette in the Kananaskis Valley near Canmore and Calgary, Alberta is the scenic summit of Mount Wasootch. This is one of the more scenic hikes I've been on, standing at 7730 feet/2350 meters. Often overlooked, Wasootch offers ample front-range views of the Kananaskis Valley, Barrier Lake and Sibbald Conservation area.
at points of scrambling, the hiking trail continues. We chose to scramble.
