Departures: Greenland - Cape Hope Dancing
Scene from Departures Season 3 Episode 11 in Cape Hope, Greenland
While out in the middle of absolutely nowhere, Justin and Scott try to stay warm and stay positive.
DEPARTURES | SEASON THREE | E11 | Greenland
The guys arrive in the arctic destination at the beginning of winter. With only six hours of sunlight a day, they experience an entirely different type of adventure. Arriving by helicopter into the town of Ittoqqortoormiit, they take part in a seal hunt, and learn of the many ways people survive in this harsh arctic climate. With some basic training under their belt, the team heads off on a three-day trek to the abandoned ghost town of Cape Hope, where weather and extreme conditions pushes everyone’s utmost limits.

Meet Niels - he is from one of the world's most isolated towns (Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland). He grew up alongside polar bears and massive glaciers inside the largest national park and fjord system on earth. He knows all 350 residents in his town by name and the closest city is thousands of kilometers away.
Despite traveling and studying overseas, he chooses to remain back home because he loves his hometown. That's very admirable!
It was a pleasure spending the day with Niels in one of the most fascinating places I've ever been. I hope to go back again another in the wintertime!

The long journey home
Traveling from Constable Point to home is not simple task! We took a helicopter from Constable Point to Kap Hope, where we met a twin otter which flew us to Akureyri, northern Iceland. Then it was two more flights until we arrived home to the US. This clip is from the more interesting part of our travels home.

I am so unbelievably sad that my 2 week trip in Syria has come to an end. This country has gone above and beyond all of my expectations in many ways, but none other than the hospitality.
Sometimes it's hard for me to communicate with you how incredible and warming these people are, because I am often not rolling my camera during the best moments. It almost doesn't make sense to me -- how can people be THIS genuine?
All I can tell you, with absolute confidence, is that Syria has the best hospitality in the world. Period.
Over the last 14 days, I have received 16 random gifts for free -- all of them were unexpected. This video takes you on a journey to hear about every single one of them!
To all my friends that I met in Syria, thank you for showing me a great time. And to everyone who watched my videos here, I hope your perspectives have changed about this country. I will be back soon!s

[Wikipedia] Itterajivit
Itterajivit (also Ittaajimmiut or Igterajivit), formerly Kap Hope, was a small village in the Sermersooq municipality in eastern Greenland. It was abandoned in late 2005. It was the last remaining populated settlement outside Ittoqqortoormiit, located on Liverpool Land, across the Rosenvinge bay to the west of the town. It was featured in the TV show Departures.

It has always been a dream of mine to visit Greenland, see its natural wonders and explore the things to do in Greenland. In September 2018 I finally got the chance and flew to the capital to explore the things to do in Nuuk before going on a tour to the Greenland Ice Cap where I also saw the spectacular Northern Lights.
I chose Nuuk as it is a great base for independent travelers for several tour options, hikes and sights in and around the capital while also offering fairly reasonable prices. You can use this video as a guide for your visit to Greenland and you are free to leave more tips and recommendations for things to do in Nuuk in the comment section below!

The last 4 days of my life in Central African Republic have been spent with David, who is a Christian, and Fore, who is a Muslim. I am Jewish.
These guys are some of the best local hosts and friends I've made around the world. Despite having 3 separate religions, it never held us back from getting along. In fact, just the opposite happened -- we became curious about one another's beliefs and we had many great conversations. Especially right now, in the midst of the holiday season!
There is a bigger message here that I hope you can all realize. All 7 billion human beings on this planet should not be divided by our beliefs. When it comes down to it, we are all the exact same.
Thank you David and Fore for showing me an incredible time in your country, which my country's government currently issues the following travel advisory: Do not travel to Central African Republic (CAR) due to crime, civil unrest, and kidnapping.

What Can $10 Get in LAGOS, NIGERIA? (craziest city)

HELLO FROM LAGOS, NIGERIA -- COUNTRY #175!! ???????? I truly had a lot of fun making this video inside Africa's craziest and most populated city. Did you know that over 20 million people are living in Lagos?! It is hands down one of the most hectic, chaotic and vibrant places I've ever been with a LOT of stories to tell. I'm overwhelmed.
My local friend and YouTuber named Tayo (his channel linked below) has been taking me all around his bustling city and we've had an absolute blast together. Surprisingly, this was one of the hardest videos I've ever made because it's REALLY challenging to shoot content on these streets. People don't like being on the camera here and they make a huge commotion in the streets and ask for money (etc) whenever they see it from a distance.
In any regard, I hope you enjoy this episode of my $10 series and get a glimpse into local Nigerian culture. More to come tomorrow!
