It lies on the way between Udupi and Mangalore beside National Highway 66 (previously NH-17). There is a beach on the shore of the Arabian Sea and a lighthouse. Many films have been shot at this location. Kapu is located around 13 km from Udupi and 45 km from Mangalore. It takes almost 25 minutes to reach Kapu from Udupi. In today's vlog I show you how To Spend A Day In Kapu Beach, Udupi Karnataka India. This beach is also known as Kaup Beach. The beach is so neat and clean. Water is very clear. So Some peoples also do Scuba diving at Kapu beach. There is a light house/ lighthouse in kapu beach. But to enter the lighthouse you need to know the timings first. So what is the kapu beach lighthouse timings? To know you have to watch the video/vlog. I found a small jellyfish in kapu beach in udupi. Sometimes starfish also float to the beach. Many Crabs also can be seen. Beautiful Seashells are laying all over the beach. Means lots of activity can be done in kapu beach. Also ideal place for photoshoot. Ideal for Pre-wedding photoshoot and cinematic videoshoots/videography. Many Kannada movies/songs were also shot here. Kapu Lighthouse: The Kapu light house was built in 1901.The lighthouse is open for visitors between *** (To know you have to watch the video/vlog.) and the panoramic view offered is magnificent. Udipi District ka ek pramukh seher hai Kapu, actually kaup ko tulu language mai kapu pronaunce kiya jata hai.
Mangaluru ke paas wese tho bahut se beaches hain but Kappu Beach is just superb.
This place is located on the way of Udipi to Mangalore (National Highway 66).
The distance between Kapu Beach and Manipal is 23km approximately.
Lets Talk about the Light House..
Yahan ka light house Bhaarat ka sabse purane light house me se ek hai,karib 100 saal purana.
This light house was built in 1901. You can also enjoy the magnificent view from the top of the light house during evening time in between 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
I think the beach is the only place where children actually explore themselves, and remember there is always a child inside everyone.
The beach is not a place to work or think about your problems.Its a place where you can talk with yourself.

Kapu beach and lighthouse are the most popular destinations in Udupi after st mary's island and malpe beach.
The major attraction of Kapu beach is the old Lighthouse on the shore. One can climb the lighthouse to get a breathtaking view of the beach from above.
Utmost care needs to be taken while visiting kapu beach. Kapu beach is considered as one of the most dangerous beaches in Udupi coastal. Every year cases of drowning in the water are getting increased even after increased measures taken by coastal police.

Kapu is a town in Udupi district of Karnataka, India. It lies on the way between Udupi and Mangalore beside National Highway 66 (previously NH-17). It is 13 km south of Udupi, a town famous for its ancient Krishna Temple and 40 km north of Mangalore, chief port city of Karnataka.
Kapu(udupi) beach lies on the shore of the Arabian Sea & it has a very famous lighthouse. It is about 15 km from the university town of Manipal and is a favorite hangout for students.

Comment : Its main attraction is the lighthouse. Presence of rocks in the coastline makes the sea rough and one can get a good feel of the power of Arabian sea in its crushing waves.

Udupi - Kaup Beach: My Rainy Summer Trip to India 3
Udupi (ಉಡುಪಿ in Kannada, also spelled Udipi) is a city in the southwest Indian State of Karnataka. It is the headquarters of Udupi District. Udupi is notable for the Krishna Temple and lends its name to the popular Udupi cuisine. It is also known as Lord Parasurama Kshetra.
Udupi, also known as Rajata Peetha and Shivalli (Shivabelli), a centre of pilgrimage, is situated about 60 km north of Mangalore and about 422 km northwest of Bangalore.
Udupi is known for the Krishna Mutt (Temple of Lord Krishna) and as the native place of the Vaishnava saint Shri Madhvacharya, who founded the (dvaita) sect of Vaishnava Hinduism and the Udupi Krishna Mutt (in the 13th century). He is known as the third form of Mukhya praana( literally meaning 'primary life source'), after Hanuman and Bheema.[3] For Vaishnavas and Dvaitas all around the globe, including ISKCON, Udupi is a significant place. It is of historic importance due to it being the birth place of a new branch of philosophy and of a great philosopher and saint.
Idol of Udupi Shri Krishna- Mythology and History According to a folklore, there was a storm in the sea at Malpe, which is a seashore, about 7 kilometers from the center of the town. Shri Madhvacharya was on the shore at the time and saw a ship that was in trouble. He helped the ship reach the shore to safety. The sailors were very grateful and gave him idols of Lord Krishna and Lord Balarama that they found in a rock of gopi-chandan ( a fragrant mud, with significance in hindu vaishnava culture). He did the pratishte (installation) of the deity of Lord Balarama near Malpe. This temple is known as Vadabandeshwara. He brought the deity of Lord Krishna and did the pratishte at Udupi. This temple is known as Krishna Mutt (pronounced 'ma-ta' meaning a temple by swamijis i.e. saints)

The idol was not made by man. The story of the idol is covered in the Hindu mythology.Devaki, Krishna's mother asks Krishna to show her his form as a child, as he was brought up by Yashoda devi. Stories of Krishna's childhood are known for their sentimental beauty. Lord Krishna is known to have shown wonderful innocence, love, beauty and mischief along with courage and dharma to his devotees. These are known as 'baal-leela'. The Lord becomes a child instantly and Goddess Rukmini, wife of Krishna, a form of Goddess Laxmi, sees this. She calls Vishvakarma, the architect of devatas, to make such an idol, and Krishna promises his presence in this idol- holding a Kadagolu ( a wooden ladle/ rod used in olden days to churn butter), its rope held in his left, curling around the his young form, and a halo behind his head, to his devotees (who are usually called 'sajjana', which literally means 'good people', but is used to refer to Vishnu's devotees, that show humanity or goodness along with knowledge,devotion and detachment to all things shallow). Hence a prefix of 'Rukmini Karaarchita' is placed before Udupi's Sri Krishna.

It is famous for its lighthouse and the three Mariamma temples and a fort built by Tippu Sultan.
There is a beach on the shore of the Arabian Sea and a lighthouse. Many films have been shot at this location. Kaup has three Marigudi which attracts devotees from far away places. The sea is much more rougher and intimidating compared to the gentler Malpe beach in Udupi. It is about 15 km from the university town of Manipal and is a favorite hangout for the students. The beach also sports a shack and a bar with seating in the open sky. Though the sea is mostly calm all year round, there have been isolated cases of drowning in this beach

The stairs keep getting steeper and steeper as you ascend. At the last spiral there is a room where there are wooden steps, it's more like a ladder to be precise where you will have to snug yourself thru and arrive at the balcony of the Light house. You are allowed for just a few minutes before the ticket checker starts asking people to vacate space for more who are waiting.
Remember its best to get up as one of the first batch of people as this will give you a few minutes extra to enjoy the view from the top and may be take a few photos for keeps.
