The Tokyo Subway Museum is located in Kasai in eastern Tokyo. The Subway Museum features a number of historic Tokyo subway carriages, video displays, poster exhibitions, model train layouts and hands-on simulation games. The Tokyo Subway Museum is an excellent stop for train-mad children and their parents.
Visitors enter the museum through a subway ticket gate leading to a section on Tokyo's first underground line between Ueno and Asakusa (now part of today's Ginza-Line) which opened in 1927. On display in the 1920s-period reconstruction of Ueno station is an original 1927 model 1000 subway carriage, which was based on New York Subway rolling stock and a 1954 model 301 Marunouchi Subway Line carriage.
The Subway Museum also has displays on tunnelling technology and some excellent simulation games, where kids of elementary school age and above are allowed to drive the trains under the supervision of the uniformed attendants.
The Subway Museum also contains a 1938-model 129 electric carriage, where children can operate the doors, an audio-visual hall, a library, and a small room with drinks and snacks from vending machines.

Description
The Tokyo Metro Museum is a museum that tells about the history of the Tokyo Metro. It has been open since 1986. The museum is located under the Tozai-sen Tokyo subway viaduct just 100 meters east of Kasai Station. The entrance to the museum is decorated in the style of a metro station.
The exposition of the Tokyo Metro Museum contains various documents and photographs about the construction of the metro in the capital and the history of its development. The main exhibits of the museum are a real old train and three simulators located in the gaming hall, where future trainers of the metro used to train. 西葛西駅から葛西駅の散歩 Walk from Nishikasai Station to Kasai Station.
On a sunny afternoon in November, I took the Tozai Line and got off at Nishikasai Station.I took a walk from the front of the station and walked a little and saw a park called the Children's Square.Many people gathered there and spent an afternoon.I saw Edogawa City Baseball Stadium near the park.After that, I walked in autumn breeze and returned to Nishikasai Station.There is a shopping district under the guard of Nishikasai Station, and many shops are open.The station on the Tozai Line on the Chiba side has something in common.That is where the guard is used as a shopping street.I walked to the neighboring Kasai Station while walking along the shopping street under the guard.On the way, I read a book by Nishikasai Library.After that, when I continued walking along the Tozai Line, I arrived at Kasai Station.There is a subway museum at Kasai Station.There you can see many exhibits about the subway.Finally, I walked a little around Kasai Station and finished this day's walk.
１１月の晴れた日の午後、東西線に乗り、西葛西駅に降り立ちました。
駅前から散歩をはじめ、少し歩くと子供の広場という公園を見かけました。
そこには多くの人が集い、午後のひと時を過ごしていました。
その公園の近くには江戸川区球場が見えました。
その後、心地よい秋の風が吹く中を歩き、西葛西駅前まで戻りました。
西葛西駅のガード下には商店街があり、多くのお店が出店しています。
千葉県よりの東西線の駅には共通点があります。
それはガード下を商店街として活用しているところです。
そのガード下の商店街を歩きながら隣の葛西駅方面へ歩きました。
途中、西葛西図書館により、少し本を読みました。
その後、東西線の線路沿いに歩き続けると葛西駅に到着しました。
葛西駅には地下鉄博物館があります。
そこには地下鉄に関する多くの展示物を見ることができます。
最後に葛西駅の周辺を少し歩いてこの日の散歩を終えました。

Very Nice late 1980s Mitsubishi Traction Elevator@Harajuku Yamaoka Building, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan
Filmed in January 2016. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact year of construction, but this building probably dates back to the late 1980s. In 2012, the Ice Monster restaurant opened in this building on floors 1-3. The floors above the 3rd floor are locked-off.

「Eddie Sound」
江戸川サウンド（エディーサウンド＝Eddie Sound）は、
言うまでもないが、日本の東京都の江戸川区のサウンドであり音楽である。
厳密に言えば、江戸川と荒川というふたつの大流に挟まれた
風情のある一区にインスピレーションを得たサウンドである。
江戸という名を冠しているだけに、歴史的、伝統的な空気と趣きをもちろん尊重しながらも、
当然、現代の空気感、日々変わり移りゆく空気やエネルギーを表現しようと、
縁あるアーティストやプロデュース・スタッフが生み出したサウンド、
それがこの一枚のCDに凝縮された。
本来、大都市の多くには川があり、
そこに住む多彩多様な人々の馴染みの場所になり、
四季折々の節の場になり、当然祭りを生み、歌を産し、
その川辺独特のリズムを作り出してきた。
夏の川面に映える花火や風と同じく、川に音楽は欠かせないもの。
「大利根月夜」や「真室川音頭」等、日本に限っても、ご当地ソングというより
ご当川ソングを挙げていけば、古今限りなく、世界に目を向ければ、
ロンドンのテムズ川、パリのセーヌ川、ニューヨークのイースト川やハーレム川等、
都市の源となった名流が、どれだけ多くの音楽を生んできたか、とても数えきれない。
パリの空の下、セーヌ川は流れ、シャンソンを生み、
東京の空の下、江戸川は流れ、エディーサウンドを、今昔、生んでいるのである。
「Eddie（エディー）、そりゃ何だ？」という方もいらっしゃるだろう。
かつて、日本のロマンチック歌謡に一脈も二脈も通じるしなやかなソウル・ミュージックを
作り出したフィラデルフィア（Philadelphia）のサウンドを、愛着と親しみをこめて
「Phille（フィリー）」と呼んだ人達への敬意もこめたニックネームである。
（※その中には、大リーグPhillesのプロ野球選手も多く、命名者もいたというのが通説）
フィリーの側には、やはりデラウェア川が流れ、
エディーの側には、江戸川が流れる・・・川は音楽を生む。
さて、その「Eddie Sound（エディーサウンド）」、先ずは、紀の川や熊野川等を有する
和歌山の魚住弘樹の代表曲「マイヤコンディアス」が人の縁で泳ぎ上がり、
江戸川の島ゆかりの艶やかな演歌と結びついた「江戸川令和音頭」で幕を開け、
川が大海に行きつくようにエスニックなロック・フュージョンやアーシーなブルース＆ジャズ・ロックにつながっていく。
大流の川沿いを歩いたり踊りに行ったりする内に、
風景が変わり、胸の内が彷徨い、様々な音が行き来する図は、
川沿いに様々な人が住み、あるいは訪れ、
様々な物語を生んできた歴史そのもののような気がする。
音楽ファンとして、敢えて細かく言わせてもらえば、
水の流れとネオンサインによく似合うエレクトロニックな音と、
躍動するラテンやロック・ン・ソウルなビートが
「Eddie Sound（エディーサウンド）」の最大の特色だろうか？
そこには小うるさい音楽の垣根やジャンル等の制約がまったく無い。
川の流れと時のうつろいのように、
艶やかな音色とメロディー、うねるビート、
江戸川の空気である。
大衆の自然な音楽の原点を久しぶりに聴く思いだ。

Filmed in December 2015. There are two elevators in this hall, one of them is original from 1984, the other one has been modernized. There is also a third elevator in this building according to a floor map I found on the Internet. Very nice old OTIS elevator! The building was completed in March 1985.

Filmed in January 2016. The Shinagawa Prince Hotel*** is a huge hotel which consists of four buildings or towers with a grand total of 3679 rooms and 27 passenger elevators (maybe even more, also staff elevators):
- The original main tower completed in July 1978 with 15 floors and 1015 rooms and 3 elevators (modernized unfortunately in the late 2000s - no video (nowadays, it's known as the east tower).
- The current main tower completed in December 1994 with 39 floors, 1735 rooms, 12 Toshiba elevators and one Mitsubishi elevator

At the time this cycle park was built, it had 4150 cycle spaces, bringing the total for the railway station to a bit over 6000. It was later found to be inadequate, and total capacity at the railway station was expanded to around 10000 bikes. See the blog for more details.
This bike park cost €10M to build. Groningen is the world's top cycling city. Around 60% of all journeys in Groningen are by bicycle.
