Our Trip to Haines Junction and Kathleen Lake

Jorge and I decided to celebrate our 11th month of marriage by driving out to Haines Junction to see Kathleen Lake for the first time. We were not disappointed.
This is just a very short clip of Jorge and I's evening adventure. You gotta love summers here in the Yukon. We arrived home at 12AM and there was still light out. CRAZY!

I moved to Haines Junction, Yukon in mid June, 2014 to begin my new work role as CAO of the Village. As most folks would do I think, I've put in an extra ordinary number of hours at work since arriving. It's what a person needs to do to get acclimatized. At the same time, I've also made it known that I love to fish, and I have been lucky enough to form a friendship with Wade Istchenko. Wade was raised in Haines Junction and at one time operated a guiding company. I was super excited to get an invite from Wade to go fly fishing for a day. The following videos are taken during our trip to Kathleen Lake and Louise Lake in Kluane National Park, Yukon. We fished our 4wt setup and had a hoot catching buckets of Artic Grayling and I managed to hook a beauty Kokanee Salmon. The fishing, scenery and company made the day remarkable. I hope you enjoy these videos.

Very nice Parks Canada campground at Kluane National Park, Yukon, Canada. Great fire circle. Can be windy. Late light out in June. Sunset at 1143 pm on the summer solstice. It doesn't get dark here in June.
