In the first episode of the second season of SHAUNVLOG, I fly to Sorrento in Italy, one of the crown jewels along the Amalfi Coast, just a short drive away from Pompeii and Naples / Napoli. Watch the whole series of these Italian travel vlogs - it is such a beautiful place! From our base at the Belair Sorrento, it's only a short hop by boat over to places like the isle of Capri and other stunning locations in the region. It's also just a short drive to Positano, another stunning place,

SORRENTO TRAVEL GUIDE (Amalfi Coast)
Thinking of travelling to Sorrento? I visited with my family in July 2017, here's a guide of great things you could do...
The weather was absolutely perfect while we were there, but not what we are used to. We were surprised that the Italian food wasn't as good as we were expecting, for example I ordered a tomato pasta and literally got raw tomatoes on a bed of pasta covered in oil... WHAT?
One tip for drone pilots: the seagulls are crazy there so when flying your drone watch out for them! I had a flock of about 60 all swooping down trying to take out my drone, so stay away from the drone killers!
We stayed in the amazing Hotel Miramare:
One day we decided to rent a boat and sail across to Capri, this was definitely the best thing we did. The views were incredible and our captain Damiano told us all about the history of Capri which was interesting.
Here's the company we used:
We also rented kayaks from this company:

Lost My Camera Kayaking in Sorrento
My Git2 camera was loosely attached to my head, when I stupidly capsized while trying to enter this ancient Roman fishing grotto in Sorrento. I didn't even know it fell off my head until my buddies asked where's your camera?
I tried in vain to find the camera, but the surf was too strong, and I didn't have a mask. We eventually enlisted the help of a local diver who was in the area. 30 minutes later, when all hope was lost... ;-)
Old Town Sorrento Features
The Old Town Sorrento comes with a drop-down skeg to keep you tracking straight and moving forward, letting you focus on taking in the sights. Available in two sizes and equipped with the ASC2 seat, the Sorrento is a perfect fit.
What is winter like on the Amalfi Coast?
What does winter look like on the Amalfi Coast? Hmmmm I wonder who could show you? Oh that's right! Me!!
For those thinking about coming to the Amalfi Coast during the off season, let me give you a heads up of what to expect. For example the Winter (well in this case Autumn but you get the gist) the weather can be unpredictable, little bit chilly and most businesses pack up and close for this season.
Expect nothing but cool quiet tranquility on the Amalfi Coast. As the majority of people have left, locals emerge and reclaim their beloved coast again!
For those who don't mind a more quiet inactive town, you might enjoy this authentic perspective. This is what we do in the winter.

7 Positano Beaches by Kayak in winter
Kayaking in Positano in February? Why not! I take you on a paddle around the coastline to see the main beaches of Positano from Laurito Beach over to behind Fornillo Beach. We also stop in a couple of caves along the way.

A Hike in the Mountains of Southern Italy. Molare - Highest Point on the Sorrento/Amalfi Peninsula.
In this video, I am up in the mountains above Napoli in southern Italy, hiking up in the range known as Monte Sant’Angelo or ‘Tre Pizzi’, the highest point on the Lattari, the backbone of the Sorrento/Amalfi peninsula between the Gulf of Salerno and the Bay of Naples.
My walk begins after a panoramic cable car ride to Monte Faito and then a climb up to the summit of Monte Sant’Michele (1444m or 4737ft) better known as Molare (translated as the Molar, due to its distinctive tooth shape) with amazing 360 degree views across to Pompeii, Naples and Vesuvius to the north, Punta Campanella and the Island of Capri to the West and the Amalfi coast to the south. My return descent takes me to some stunning caves with views down to the forested valley two thousand feet below and back down the ridge to where I started.
This area of Italy boasts some stunning, rugged landscapes with a well waymarked network of superb trails to explore - I’ll be back!
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
