Nepal - Kayak trip
This is a compilation of clips from some rivers that we paddled during our kayaking trip around Nepal. We paddled the Modi Khola and upper upper Kali gandaki .
It was an amazing experience with great friends, discovering new places and the culture of this magical place. I wish to come back one day ...
This video is dedicated to Mariano Alós, a good friend who lived his life to the fullest till the end. We will never forget you bro, you will always be in our mind and hearts.

Arriving in Nepal!
Before heading to Tibet it was time to wait for the rest of the crew to arrive so we spent two days on the
Modi Khola Express II 2018
On October 25-27, 2018 national and international paddlers battled it out on the Modi Khola, an excellent grade 4/5 river nestled inside Nepal’s famous Annapurna Conservation Area while enjoying the view of the iconic Mount Macchapucchre. Organized by Nepal Kayak Club, the Express Series provides an opportunity for local and international kayakers to paddle it out one last time on the mighty rivers of Nepal that are threatened by large hydropower projects. The first two Express Series championships, the Marshyangdi Express 2015 and Bhote Koshi Express 2016, were held on rivers that had proposed dams or dams in the development process. After the success of Modi Khola Express 2017, Nepal Kayak Club returned to the same spot for the 2018 Express series.
One month of traveling Nepal by kayak, in 6 minutes.
We spent a month traveling the rivers of Nepal where some of the world's best whitewater flows from the peaks of the Himalayas, but it was the people and culture of the country that made this journey unforgettable.

Beating the heat in Kathmandu!
Kathmandu is an amazing place to hang out but man is it hot at this time of year. Pretty stoked to get out on the river for a few days and melt less.

Our first week in Nepal. The crew (Jo, Hamish, Dan, Amber, Garth, Jason & Mike) assemble in Kathmandu then head west to Pokhara to paddle the Upper Seti. After a nice warm up on a milky white river we grab a couple of jeeps and continue west to Durbag for a small hike to a rural mountain village for the night. The next day we paddle down the Myagdi Khola to Benni and then on down the Kali Gandaki River.

Kayaking the Balephi in Nepal
Just got back from an amazing trip to Nepal where we paddled a loads of great rivers. This isn't the hardest but it is the prettiest, if it's not the perfect G3 river it's close enough. It's in a delightful quiet valley, it's fun all the way and the local people even string flowers across it for you! Ok, so they do it for Ganesh, but it feels like they did it to welcome you.
We were paddling directly into the sun for much of the way which is difficult for the camera so sorry about some of the video quality not being quiet as good as you might like.
Mike is behind the camera and Genia's paddling in front. You also get glimpses of Maila and Bimal from GRGs and The Twins who joined us part of our trip.
The Balephi flows into the upper Sun Kosi so the last part of the video (where the river gets a bit bigger) is actually that. We got off at Sukute Beach where we were staying. It was such a good day out!

Mission East to West | Dream Kayak Expedition in Nepal
We will be kayaking all the major rivers of Nepal from East to West of Nepal. I’ll be sharing this journey with young nepali paddlers and friends from around the world. Yet, this is not just about our journey. It is not just about paddling or extreme kayaking, neither is it only about the river, or being patriotic.
This is about the people I'll meet along the way, about their stories and their experiences of the fast and scary development of rural nepal. This is about the streams I used to swim in, the rivers I used to paddle, the juicy fruit garden , the fresh air I used to breath.
This is about seeing what's left of my childhood.
This is Mission East to West.

The Himalayan Experience (Nepal kayaking)
Thankful for the people who helped me in Nepal and beforehand.
Thuli Bheri Kayak Expedition 2019
The Thuli Bheri is one of the best multiday kayak trips in Nepal. The river is located in the north-west of the country, in the very beautiful and remote Dolpa region. The upper river section offers around 100km of super continuous and crystal clear grade 4-5 whitewater and only few portages, but also brings along some logistic struggles to get to the river and back. All in all a great adventure with one of the best river teams you can ask for!
We flew in from Nepalgunj and after some permit struggle in Dunai it eventually took us a total of 5 days on the river to take out at the Bheri Bridge. Flows where pretty pushy early November, but manageable. The whitewater is endless and mostly class IV-IV+ with a few portages depending on the flow (and one big one).

World Class Academy - Nepal Fall Quarter 2012
Part of the challenge at World Class is how to capture the experience of the each adventure using available technologies. The Video Productions class, offered each semester at WCA, took this challenge and ran with it under some difficult situations. This being the first time WCA has gone to Nepal, everyone was excited to try to capture each moment, from the academics in spectacular environments, to the whitewater, lifestyle shots, and cultural images of one very visually stimulating country. Andy McMurray was the teacher of this class which is an exploration of video and photo techniques, but what' more, is a team experience where a group of 13 students need to come together and work on a single project: the Semester Video. This years' class did an amazing job and we are excited to share with you the Fall 2012 WCA Nepal Semester. Enjoy and help celebrate the Nepal experience!
