On 07-07-1992, Mr. Willy t. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India brought Khajjiar on the world tourism map by christening it Mini Switzerland. He also put a sign board of a yellow Swiss hiking footpath showing Khajjiar's distance from the Swiss capital Berne-6194 km. Khajjiar is among the 160 locations in the world that bear topographical resemblance with Switzerland. The Counselor also took from Khajjiar a stone which will form part of a stone collage around the Swiss Parliament to remind the visitors of Khajjiar as Mini Switzerland of India. It is about 6,500 feet (2,000 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas and snowy peaks can be seen in the distance. It is part of the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary.
Khajjiar is often reffered to as Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh.

Places of Interest
The best entertainment in Khajjiar is to walk around the lake or to go for long walks in the thick pine forests. Children enjoy this place because of the freedom of movement and the slopy terrain which permits them to roll down to the lake without getting hurt. Another attraction like any other hill station is horse riding.Dhauladhar mountains:Dense deodars, pines and lush green meadows are characteristic of Khajjiar. Since Khajjiar is situated at the base of the Dhauladhar mountains, the tourists here can get panoramic views of the mountains
Khajjiar Lake: Khajjiar Lake is a small lake, surrounded by saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island. The dense growth of weed called 'vacha' has made its earth spongy. Now the banks stand covered by a thick layer of earth, formed by the years of dust settling down on the weeds.
Khajjinag temple: A little away from the lake is the temple of Khajji Nag belonging to 12th C. AD. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kaurvas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path. The sanctum of the temple has been beautifully carved from wood. This temple is dedicated to snake(Nāga) worship and there are some snake idols inside.

A beautiful journey to Khajjiar | Chamba Himachal Pradesh | Mini Switzerland of India
Hii friends this is my video about the Khajjiar Hill station of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh and you are watching @Heavenly journeys. Khajjiar is at the height of 6500ft above sea-level and is also called Mini Switzerland of India or Himachal Pradesh. This video or journey of Khajjiar is a part of our Chamba and Dalhousie tour in July 2019. Khajjiar is 24km from Dalhousie hill station. We started our journey from Dalhousie about 9am in morning and went through Diana Kund(the highest point in Dalhousie at 9000ft) and Kala Top Wild Life Sanctuary. We went through dense forest of Alpine trees, many wild life and glacial streams enroute, then finally reached Khajjiar. Khajjiar is a beautiful place to visit and walk around in all weather. In winter times you will see excessive snowfall in Khajjiar. Khajjiar is famous for its Khajji Nag Devta Temple and a small lake and for its beautiful views of Deodars. You can also stay at Hotel Parul, Hotel Puri, Hotel Mini Swiss, Hotel Shinning Star, Hotel Country Resort, Hotel Spring and Anjali Homestays for fantastic and easy stays. From Khajjiar you can go for numerous treks such as Phalni Devi trek, A Mystic village trek and further go for Chamba, Saho, Salooni, Sach Pass, Banikhet and Bharmour. Khajjiar Lake is a place in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India, located approximately 25 km from Dalhousie and approx 12 Km from Kalatop wildlife sanctuary. Actually Khajjiar Lake is a part of Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary.
The lake is surrounded by meadows and forests. It is about 6,500 feet (1920 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas.
Khajjiar can be reached from Dalhousie. Nearest Railway station is Pathankot Railway station and it is at the distance of approximately 100 Km. Khajjiar Lake is a small lake, surrounded by saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island.
Surrounded by lush green deodar forests, Khajjiar Lake is a natural wonder. It is among the best places to visit in Himachal Pradesh.

Khajjiar is a beautiful greenish hill station located approximately 24 km from Dalhousie. The environment in this place is awesome. Therefore this place is called as Mini Switzerland of India.
We planned to go there with family in month of July. We enjoyed a lot there and felt so much happiness. We have captured some happy moments which we are sharing with you. We hope you would like this.

Khajjiar is also called the Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh and serves as a starting point for trekking to Chamba, Dalhousie and Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary among others. Indeed, trekking is the best way to explore Khajjiar. Zorbing, which runs downhill in a plastic 'zorb', is a popular recreational activity in April and May. With its exotic flora and fauna, the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is a pleasure for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.

It was a dream that I would fly in the sky, watch our earth how it looks from above and how birds enjoy the beauty of heaven.... I was very curious how the Earth looks out of the sky and even for me Paraglide. 1-2 years ago I knew paragliding and skydiving videos on YouTube, even I'm watching now.... as I love adventurous things and decided for this adventure anyway what happened to me. Everyone must make this paradise location in Himachal Pradesh rich, it is a true destination and places where Amritsar (Golden Temple, Wagah Border, and Textile Factory IV), Himachal Pradesh (Dalhousie, Khajjiar and Attractive Places), Dharamshal (Cricket Stadium IPL and T20 And another temple like bhagsunath temple Mcleodganj, Dalai Lama Temple).... When we went to Khajjiar and also called Mini Switzerland, it was just amazing big circle around the most beautiful tree.
Then some people asked Paragliding Karna Hai (you want to do paragliding) I got stuck and said yes yes and I asked for the price and we went to the airplane location but nobody came with me to frighten them to To do that. But it was my dream to complete and I go with them and drive 1km to the location and then carried the parachute and started walking on the mountain the distance was 400-600 meters but it was hard to climb as the Corner of the mountain was 45 ° and finally we completed the walk on the mountain and I took rest and she made a parachute ready for takeoff and I was scared and think of what happens if it fails but it was my dream And I cannot stop. After 15 minutes they called me, carry me Harness we were ready to F ** K OFF
After 10 seconds ascension, I realized that I was in the sky and started to enjoy the beauty and birdwaali feeling and even the stunt was great by captain ... Serious boys meant to fly and paragliding.
