Visit an oasis in the city! Hibiya Park - a park full of fun events
The scenery of the four seasons seen in Hibiya Park - located in the center of Tokyo - is astonishing. Beginning with the cherry blossoms in spring, the dark green of the trees in summer and the colorful autumn leaves invite visitors on a refreshing stroll through the park.
Also, there are many fun events throughout the year at Hibiya Park. Don't miss this energetic oasis!
Hibiya Park is Japan's first western-style park. This modern park opened in 1903. Its trademark is the big fountain. With 161,636 square meters, Hibiya Park is quite large. The atmosphere differs depending on the area of the park - so it is highly recommended to stroll through various areas! Enjoy the flowers and greenery of every season including western-style roses, Japanese style cherry blossoms, and the pretty yellow ginkgo leaves. Also, the park offers a tennis court and a famous restaurant called Matsumotoro.
A lot of fun events take place at Hibiya Park. In summer, Bon Odori, a traditional Japanese dance festival, is held. Locals and foreigners dance to the nostalgic music around the big fountain. Watching people wearing their colorful yukata (summer kimonos) and listening to the drum players at the yagura stage make this event unforgettable. There are many different dances at a Bon-Dance, but the dances with their repetitive moves are easy to learn. Just try to imitate the people surrounding you. It is one of the largest Bon-Dances in Tokyo. Anyone can join and participate, so please come and dance with us!
At Hibiya Park, music and food events are also held. In addition to a beer festival, popular local gourmet (specialties from different regions throughout Japan) events also take place from time to time. Perfect if you want to try delicious dishes you have never seen before.
From late November to early December, Hibiya Park will turn into a sea of beautiful autumn leaves. Especially the area around kumogata-ike pond (the cloud-shaped pond) is amazing. The cute bridge and the crane-shaped fountain there are beautiful photo spots.
Hibiya Park is a wonderful park not only for relaxing but also for joining fun events. It's a great place to visit - so please come by!

靖国神社 夜景 千代田さくらまつり Japan Tokyo chiyoda sakura Festival 357

Extra information of each area from the video:
1. CHUO city skuragawa Park
1, IRIFUNE 1-CHŌME CHUO TOKYO JAPAN 104-0042
It’s best to visit here during sakura (cherry blossom) season. In Tokyo, this is usually from mid March to mid April.
2. Tokyo station
MARUNOUCHI CHIYODA TOKYO JAPAN 100-0005
This is a very busy train station with over 3,000 trains per day. The original brick building (marunouchi). It first opened in 1914.
3. Kit kat chocolatory ginza
7-2, GINZA 3- CHŌME CHUO, TOKYO JAPAN 104-0061
This store has many different kinds of kit kat flavours from butter and matcha to strawberry cheesecake and pistachio raspberry. There is a kit kat coffee shop located on the top floor when you walk up the stairs.
4. Ginza CHUO dori street
GINZA CHUO-DORI STREET CHUO, TOKYO JAPAN 104-0061
This street is the Oxford street of Tokyo with many different stores, restaurants and bars for high end customers. The high-rise buildings are beautiful at night time.
5. Alice in a labyrinth restaurant
8-5, GINZA 8 CHŌME CHUO TOKYO JAPAN 104-0061
This is one of five of the Alice in wonderland themed restaurants in Tokyo. Entrance fee is 600¥ per person and each person has to order at least one food dish and one drink. To get through to the main restaurant, you must first walk through a labyrinth.
The other restaurants include:
Alice in fantasy book- shinjuku
Alice in a dancing land- shibuya
Alice in magical land- west shinjuku
Alice in an old castle- ikebukuro
6. Shibuya crossing intersection
INOKASHIRA DORI, 2 CHOME-2 DŌGENZAKA SHIBUYA-KU TOKYO 150-0043
This is a very famous crossing in Tokyo for being the busiest intersection in the whole world. You can see a birds-eye view from the windows in shibuya train station.
7. Kawaii monster cafe
4-31-10 JINGUMAE, SHIBUYA-KU TOKYO (CLOSEST STATION-HARAJUKU)
This is a themed cafe where you enter a monster, psychedelic eating area that has many different themed sections. The entrance fee is 500¥ per person and each person must order one food dish and one drink.
8. Meiji shrine
1 YOYOGIKAMIZONOCHŌ SHIBUYA-KU TOKYO 151-0052
This is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shōken in 1920. It is considered one of the most famous shrines in Japan. The main complex of shrines are located at a 10-15 minute walk from either train station through a forested area containing over 100,000 trees. There are activities on the way to the shrine such as taking photos in traditional wedding kimonos and buying souvenirs. At the shrine itself, you can write wishes on Emas and receive a haiku fortune.
9. Godzilla head
19-1 KABUKICHO 1-CHŌME SHINJUKU TOKYO JAPAN 160-0021
It is located on top of some tall buildings. It is easy to miss but the whole area surrounding it in shinjuku is worth exploring. It is a lot smaller than I expected but a unique idea nonetheless.
10. Any arcade
I did not get a chance to go to anata no warehouse located in Kawasaki (the most famous, themed arcade in Tokyo) but I definitely recommend visiting at least one arcade in Japan. There are a large variety of games and are usually priced at 100-300¥ per game.
