Beach landing on the Kimberley Coast - Freshwater's 52 Weeks of Adventure Challenge
Gliding over Kununurra’s mighty Ord River, admiring the tentacle like formations of the mangrove lined creeks of the Cambridge Gulf in Wyndham, and touching down on a remote 3km beach near one of the most important turtle nesting beaches on the Timor Sea coast, all topped off with a picnic champagne breakfast. This was week 7 of Freshwater’s 52 Weeks of Adventure Challenge with Kingfisher tours, and another great reason to visit Kununurra, WA.

Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) National Park
The Bungle Bungle Range is an astonishing formation of beehive-shaped sandstone domes, situated in Purnululu National Park, Purnululu is one of only 20 UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites in Australia.
Atmospheric, breathtaking and unforgettable, walk amongst the 250-metre-high domes and marvel at the changing colours of the rocks during the day. Long known by the Gija people of the East Kimberley, it wasn’t ‘discovered’ by Europeans until 1983 when a film crew saw it from the air. A short flight from Kununurra, or a 300km drive makes this jewel of the Kimberley easily accessible for today’s visitors.
There are several walks within the park of varying
length and difficulty, all of which are sure to delight. Choose to join up with a guide and really learn about how the land was used by the locals
many years ago. You will learn about Aboriginal art, spinifex plants and their many uses, the intricacy of termite colonies and much more.
As well as enjoying the 360 million-year-old domes, things not to miss in Purnululu include Cathedral Gorge, a natural amphitheatre which
amplifies every sound, Echidna Chasm with its winding path through two massive rock formations, stunning views over the Tanami
desert and Piccaninny Creek, one of the longer but rewarding walks.
This footage was taken on the Bungle Bungle Wanderer tour with Aviair and Bungle Bungle Guided Tours, and even our video cannot express how incredible the experience was! Get in touch with us to find out more about this combo or Kingfisher Tours fly+walk day tour.

And Australia's second largest freshwater man-made reservoir by volume.
The reservoir is part of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme and is located near the East Kimberley town of Kununurra.
The primary inflow is the Ord River, while the Bow River and many other smaller creeks also flow into the dam.
The Lake is 20 times the size of Sydney harbour

AJ DOES A TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITY , WITH HIS STUDENTS ON HOW TO COOK A NEW ZEALAND HANGI
Traditionally, the Maori people cooked in a pit under the ground in ovens called Hangi.
Hangi is a traditional New Zealand Maori method of cooking food using heated rocks , or steel irons buried in a pit oven, also called an umu. It is still used for large groups on special occasions
Hangi food was traditionally wrapped in flax leaves (similar to the Samoan “Umu”), but a modern Hangi is more likely to substitute foliage with cloth sacks, aluminium foil and wire baskets. Hangi packs are also popular – the food is put into individual foil takeaway containers and covered with cardboard lids before being cooked.
The baskets are placed on hot stones at the bottom of the hole. The food is covered with wet cloth and a mound of earth that traps the heat from the stones around the food.
The Hangi food is left in the ground for about three to four hours, depending on the quantity being cooked.

Beware the Crocodile.. Safari in Limpopo Province, South Africa ????????.
It’s so important to be in the now. All too often we are thinking about our past what happened or did t happen too busy interpreting its meaning or thinking about some forward event rather than being in the moment. It’s about the power of NOW and being present in now, after all it’s the only moment we have.
