Fat Birds Of Rhyl 2006 (In The Sea)
8 Lads enjoying the best day out in sunny Rhyl May 2006
The day the tide came in (Flooding at Towyn, North Wales 1990)
This video is about the flooding of Towyn, North Wales which occurred on 26th February 1990 when the sea wall was breached. It has been compiled from footage filmed by a local resident, copies of which were produced on VHS tape. If anyone knows the identity of this person I would like to give him credit for his work. (March 2015 - I have been given to understand that the credit for this footing should go to Roland Clauw of Belgrano).

Abbeyford Leisure Elie Holiday Park - Best Visitor Attraction Nominee
To vote for Abbeyford Leisure’s Elie Holiday Park as the Best Visitor Attraction visit kingdomfm.co.uk/hero
Families have been enjoying Elie Holiday Park for generations. Nestled behind dunes and a sandy beach, the park is a popular destination for people of all ages. Bordered by a sweeping sandy beach and forest, it’s also home to the UK’s only Robinson Crusoe Adventure Park which pays a fitting tribute to a remarkable Scottish adventurer, whose life became immortalised as Robinson Crusoe. Surrounded by palm trees and complete with an exhilarating zip-wire the two-masted sailing ship has been shipwrecked on a remote fantasy desert island.
Holidaymakers can enjoy the Fife Coastal Path, go rock-pooling or simply take in the breathtaking views. The area is also home to an array of wildlife, including seals, the rare red squirrel, many young deer and is a haven for birdwatchers. David Bellamy recently awarded Elie Holiday Park a Gold Conservation Award. The team at Abbeyford Leisure work hard with the local community and encourage school groups to enjoy the park and beach for free.
The park has an on-site eatery, Kincraig View Restaurant which offers a wide range of delicious, locally sourced dishes. Families can also enjoy regular live entertainment at Ruddons Bar.
Here’s a flavour of what some of the visitors to Elie Holiday Park had to say about the attraction:
“It’s where memories that last a lifetime are created – it’s a true hidden gem!”
“A great location that’s close to the beach. Our kids love the children’s play area”

Rhyl 2012
What you are seeing in this video is me walking along the commercial Sea front in the town of Rhyl (North Wales UK).
I used to come here on family holidays as a kid (in the late 80's/early 90's) when this place was still a popular spot for people who didn't have the money to take vacations abroad.
Now, in 2012, this town looks like the land that time forgot so to speak. Alot of the buildings are dilapidated (some look like they are about to collapse), all the arcades, bars and cafes are pretty much exactly the same as they were when I was a kid, and all around town sit drunks and drug addicts looking sorry for themselves. Long story short, the place is a dump (unlike most of North Wales which is actually very nice).
I suppose Rhyl; is a good example of what happens to a town when it effectively stands still in time. It stagnates. It becomes rotton somehow.
It's kind of a sad place to be. I wouldn't recommend you come visit.
The town needs investment. It needs fresh ideas I would say. It needs to get with the times.
PS sorry about the shoddy camera work folks...not used to shooting outdoor footage with my blackberry.
