CBJP: A Half-Day Trip in Donsak, Surat Thani
Vlog_024
This video is about our day off spent in Donsak, Surat Thani.
We visited so many awesome places such as Wat Khao Suwan Pradit (Wat Luang Pho Choi), Ko Raet, and Multi-Purpose Landing Pier. Unfortunately, I were very in rush to attend my class at 4 p.m.
We therefore had around 3 hours in total for this trip. Don't worry folks. We are planning to go there again soon.
Hope you keep watching.

Songkran 2019 - Surat Thani, Thailand
A little out of order in our travelling video blogs, but we wanted to get this video of Songkran up as soon as possible. It was such a great experience!
Songkran is the Thai New Year, which happens on the 13th April.
The Songkran celebration is rich with symbolic traditions. Mornings begin with merit-making. Visiting local temples and offering food to the Buddhist monks is commonly practiced. On this specific occasion, performing water pouring on Buddha statues and the young and elderly is a traditional ritual on this holiday. It represents purification and the washing away of one's sins and bad luck. As a festival of unity, people who have moved away usually return home to their loved ones and elders. Paying reverence to ancestors is an important part of Songkran tradition.
The holiday is known for its water festival. Major streets are closed to traffic, and are used as arenas for water fights. Celebrants, young and old, participate in this tradition by splashing water on each other.

Surat Thani Thailand Vlog
In this video, we had to get off Koh Samui and we're trying to get Poy a train back to Bangkok. The train would have left in the middle of the night and would have got her back to Bangkok at like two the next afternoon. So I said, let’s spend one more night together and I will get you a flight in the morning and you will be home in an hour versus 14 hours of train.
She got excited so we checked into the hotel room and I booked her a flight and I got a bus ticket to Krabi for the following day as well. Now that I think about it… I should have flown to Krabi and sent her on a bus.. Just kidding, I wanted to see some of Thailand via bus verses flying everywhere.
We walked around the night market and got some amazing street food again.
Then Poy thought it would be fun to go see fireflies via long tail boat. I wasn’t that into the idea at first because it was dark and the boats looked sketchy, plus I have seen fireflies before… She paid for us both to go so how could I refuse.. It was quite an adventure because we were ripping along in this long tail boat in the dark… It ended up being really cool.
We went back to our room and recorded a long video talking about our crazy adventure together.
We woke up early and were really flustered to get her to the airport on time.. We said our goodbyes and went our own direction after spending 8 days together with just about zero seconds apart.
From here I headed to Krabi, Phuket.

LOST IN PARADISE KOH PHI PHI // THAILAND
LOST IN PARADISE KOH PHI PHI // THAILAND
We decided to stay one more day on Koh Phi Phi to explore the island outside of Tonsai. There are incredible viewpoints, but we decided to hike to the East side of the island over the mountains and through the jungle... but we stayed too late and had to hike back to Tonsai in the dark and got lost!

???????? Thailand Forest Safety: TIGERS, BEARS, Leopards, Snakes, Scorpions!
Guess which one I'm REALLY afraid of in Thailand's Forest? Thailand forest is generally pretty safe if you don't have the large animals to worry about like Tigers, Bears, Elephants, Leopards, and other wild cats. Most forests in Thailand do not have tigers, elephants, and big leopards or other wild cats. Most have bears, but I have never heard of a bear attacking someone in Thailand. Not yet, anyway.
Snakes are a problem. One snake really - the Malayan Pit Viper. They are common and very dangerous snakes in the rainforest, pretty much all over the country. They have a horribly necrotic venom.
Elephants in the forest can be a problem - you should always know which animals are in the forest you're walking around in, or camping in. Camping in Thailand can be dangerous when you don't know what the dangers are. I don't go in forest with elephants, they are mainly in Bangkok area parks (east and west of Bangkok) and north.
Tigers are somewhat common on the Burma (Myanmar) border. Rubber tappers get taken by a tiger about once a year or so. That's how many times we hear about it. Maybe it happens more often.
Scorpions hurt, but there are no real deadly scorpions in the country.
Spiders hurt, but the real dangerous spiders - the brown recluse or the black widow - are not common, if they are even here at all. I've never seen either in the forest.
Bees are a problem. Don't mess with them. Don't swing at them. Certainly don't kill one. They leave a scent in the air that calls hundreds of other bees to come and sting you. You can die, some people die each year from bees. Probably one of the worst ways to die, I'd think.
People in the forest are not usually a problem. I never had a problem with anyone in the rainforest in Krabi, Phuket, Ubon, Sisaket, Surat, Trang, or anywhere else. There are hunters and rubber tappers in the forest at night. Sometimes guys who trap birds in nets check their nets at night.
Is Thailand's Forest Dangerous?
Yes, and no. With caution, you will be fine. There are very few deaths from any wild animals each year in Thailand. If you're cautious - you'll be fine.
