Solo camping & hiking Pilot Bay on Kootenay Lake in British Columbia (2018)
What the world needs is hope and healing one step at a time.
I camped at Pilot Bay provincial park and then hiked the peninsula trail, at least as far as I could on a hot day. . . My mom suffered with panic attacks and so I talk about that on this trip. This was filmed in 4K so hopefully you can watch it on a high resolution tv.

Mt. Shores Resort, Kootenay Lake B.C. Feb 13, 2013.wmv
Lots are now available offering a mild climate with lush and stunning beauty, magnificent panoramic views of Kootenay Lake including the option of a leased boat slip in our private marina. These Lots are fully serviced and paved to the property line. There is no time frame to build in the estates lots making this an excellent opportunity for long-term investment.
We are situated 45 minutes from Creston and 50 minutes from Nelson. Mountain Shores is nestled on the tranquil shores of Kootenay Lake, the largest natural body of fresh water in southern British Columbia. Unlike many of the more overly populated areas such as the Okanagan or Invermere/Radium areas, the Kootenay Lake Valley remains as a pristine treasure.
For purchasers who'd rather play than relax, Mountain Shores is a four-season destination that offers year-round fishing, as well as recreational activities. Golfing, hiking, biking and water sports are just a few of the endless activities or take in the local culture at Crawford bay and Nelson. Golfers will enjoy the close proximity to the championship Kokanee Springs Golf Resort in Crawford Bay, just a short 15-minute drive away.
The Canadian Rockies
I was recently hosted by Destination British Columbia and Kootenay Rockies Tourism to explore the mountainous, Eastern region of BC for a week. Joining me on the trip were Instagram superstars Dan Tom, JayZombie, and Matt Glastonbury. Had an amazing time experiencing the natural beauty of the region - from kayaking in Kaslo to exploring the Valhalla Provincial Park via helicopter to heli-hiking in Fernie.

Top 10 Beaches of the West Kootenays Five Mile Point Kootenay Lake
This massive stretch of beach in the West Arm of Kootenay Lake looks like something you'd see in the Caribbean... without all the smoke! Our province is on fire this summer so you'll have to try and look past the haze of wild fire smoke. The sand on this beach is really soft and the water was nice and warm! Great beach for camping or day trips. It's pretty popular and can get busy. Easily in the top 10 for our area on my list!

CODY CAVES OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
HIKING TO KOKANEE LAKE | Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park | British Columbia
Saturday June 29th, 2019! For the weekend, we took a spontaneous road trip vacation north to Nelson, BC. Throughout the trip we goofed around, ate bad, and visited Ainsworth Hot Springs as well.
This video showcases our hike to Kokanee Lake in Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park. It was awesome and a very scenic hike. The Trailhead to this hike begins at Gibson Lake in which we car camped in the night before, which was just as scenic as Kokanee Lake minus the 4.5km/2.9mi hike! You can see Gibson Lake in the very last shot of this video.
We made it to Kokanee Lake in right around two hours. It wasn’t a bad hike at all. Once there, we planned on trekking onwards to Kaslo Lake, but due to weather we decided to turn around and head back for the car. This hike is definitely recommended if you’re in the area.
All in all, this hike took us 3.5 hours to complete and that was with stopping multiple times to eat, breathe, and take in the scenery. We gained 1423 feet and descended 1465 feet.

Heritage Home For Sale in Kaslo, BC
more info at
This beautiful heritage home, circa 1894, was built by the Kanes, founding family of Kaslo, British Columbia. The sale of this home offers the rare opportunity to share in the legacy of one of the most historically significant families in this part of Western Canada. The Kane home's late Victorian architectural style incorporates many design elements from the picturesque American Queen Anne style, and is situated above the colourful and quaint town of Kaslo, pop. 1029, overlooking Kootenay Lake.
The Kane property is being offered for sale following a five year restoration and custom renovation, which permitted updating to contemporary heating/cooling, electrical systems, plumbing and insulation. The result is a comfortable modern home which still retains its original charm and historic ambiance.
