Kumano Shrine Festival, Tokyo
Today I went to my local festival in Jiyugaoka. It was surprising to see the portable shrine (mikoshi) and then the the shrine. I thought it was much smaller, so I was surprised by the nice atmosphere and food on offer.
I of course got Kakigori (shaved ice) in many flavours.
I love Japanese festivals.

Sengaku-ji (線岳寺)Temple, Minato Ward, Tokyo Metro, Japan
Sengaku-ji (線岳寺) temple is located in Takanawa, Minato ward of Tokyo in Japan.
Sengakuji was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first Shogun of Edo era, in 1612 near Edo Castle as an establishment of Dogen's tradition. However, after only 30 years, it was devastated by fire and this led to a reconstruction at the present site in Tokyo.
Sengakuji Temple is famous for the story of 47 Ronins (Samurais) of Ako Gishi and houses the Ako Gishi Graves.

Ibaraki Oaraiisosaki Shrine - 大洗磯前神社 - 4K Ultra HD
Ibaraki Oaraiisosaki Shrine - 大洗磯前神社 - 4K Ultra HD : Erected in 856, the Oaraiisosaki Shrine, also known as Orai Isosaki-Jinja, houses a deity of medicine who’s known for granting happiness and matchmaking couples. Destroyed during a war lasting from 1558 to 1570, the shrine was then rebuilt in 1690. The project was overseen by the legendary samurai Tokugawa Mitsukuni, who also become very popular on Japanese TV, being featured on the TV drama Mito Komon from 1969 to 2011, with no less than 1227 episodes!
What makes this shrine special, besides its benefactor Tokugawa Mitsukuni, is its three torii gates. The first one is located on a rock formation in the sea known as the Kamiiso-no-torii, the second is a gigantic, 15.60m high and 22.42m wide, metallic one, know as the Ichi-no-torii located at the foot of the shrine’s hill. Finally the Ni-no-torii is located on top of the aforementioned hill and in front ot the shrine.
Often ignored by both Japanese and foreign tourists, Oaraiisosaki Shrine is one of those little wonders that are highly recommended to visit if you have the chance to travel around Ibaraki.

Kurama Shrine Health in Japan: Episode 1
Japan has an interesting history with health. Health is so integrated in their culture that is even a considerable part of their spiritual beliefs. I got to walk through Mount Kurama and see the many different types of shrines. People from all over gathered to pray for good health in the new year!
By the way I know that the footage is a little shaky...I will fix this once I get a chance but it takes some time since I am currently traveling. I'll repost a less shaky version in the future.
To learn more about Mount Kurama and the alternative medicine practice, Reiki, that was started at the Kurama shrines go to Belletense.com/Kurama

Hisakuni is a Shinto shrine dedicated to HOTEI,
protector of well-being and good returns,
symbol of fukutoku emman
which means having perfect happiness and prosperity.
Ōta Dōkan was a Japanese Samurai,
warrior-poet, military tactician and Buddhist monk,
also known as the architect and builder of the Edo Castle
(the current Imperial Palace).
He donated the sacred sword made by Hisakuni,
a Master swordsmith during the Kamakura Period,
hence the name of the shrine.

JAPAN - TOKYO FOR FREE: The Tour of Fortune 3/8 - Benzaiten - Hoshuin - success and wealth
Success in life and wealth! Discover here the third hidden sanctuary of the 7 GODS OF FORTUNE.
Hoshuin is a Benten-do (弁天堂): a Buddhist temple dedicated to the Goddess Benzaiten (also called Benten), patroness of success in life and acquisition of wealth.
Located since 1685 in Shiba Park (behind Zojo-ji Temple),
it has a precinct that creates a comfortable space shaded
by trees with the Byakuren (White Lotus) pond
in the middle of the park.
Besides the vermilion Benten-do,
there is a hall housing a two-meter wooden sculpture of
Great King Enma (閻 魔 大王 Enma Dai-Ō),
the deity who judges the dead and decides who goes to Heaven or Hell, or returns to Earth.

【獅子舞】ゆかいな【天狗】 Shishimai Japanese-Lion-Dance
【4K】Christmas Eve at Shibuya city
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
After work on Christmas Eve I decided to check Shibuya for any events. I started from Ebisu garden lights, walked through Ebisu station, got to new Google's building Shibuya Stream with some animation and finally to Scramble Square. Unfortunately there was nothing unusual there, except usual lines to KFC, so I went home.
