This took a while to edit and get uploaded but here it is! My trip to Japan would've not been complete without trying on a Kimono. I have always wanted to wear one of these if I ever go to Japan, dream come true!! I went to Fushimi-Inari to take photos and that was also my way of paying tribute to Memoirs of Geisha (remember the scene where young Sayuri runs through torii gates?). I hope you guys enjoy watching the vlog. If you ever go to Japan, 100% recommended to rent a kimono. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had.

In today’s Japan vlog, we visited Kiyomizudera, one of Kyoto’s most iconic temples and RENTED KIMONOS from Okamoto Kimono! We were stopped SO MANY TIMES to be in other tourists’ photos, even literally being pulled into their pictures! It was a tonne of fun though - being dressed in full kimono certainly grabs attention ????
Then we visited the Hello Kitty Saryo cafe for a lunch with Hello Kitty herself, before shopping at a gorgeous Studio Ghibli store in the backstreets of Gion. Stay tuned to the end for my Kiyomizudera omiyage (souvenir) haul!

先日京都の伏見稲荷大社にお詣りに行きました。
正装と言うことで、飼い主が着物で行きたかったのですが遠方のため叶わず、私たちの代わりに愛犬ココに着物を着てもらうことにしました。
千本鳥居と着物を着たココがなんとも日本的で美しく（親バカですが…）、日本人以外の方にも見て頂きたいということで

Travelled from Kameyama (nearest station to where we are staying) to Central Station and the district of Arashiyama.
The Bamboo Forest, Tenryu-ji Garden and some scenic view while roaming on a kimono is one of the best way to enjoy Kyoto.

This temple is probably one of the most visited tourist spot in Kyoto – with its history dating back to the Heian period.
The most unique thing about this temple is that it was purely constructed with wood and not a single nail was used in the construction of this structure

There are a few shops of course around Kiyomizu Dera or Kyoto in general such as Gion – Okamoto Main shop is located just a few 100m’s from the entrance of the temple.
So if you want to walk less – book this one online and in advance prior to coming down here

Japan Trip 2016 - KYOTO: Renting Yukata, Fushimi Inari
Traveled to Japan recently with two of my bestfriends. I had so much fun, and I hope I could share it with you through a series of my travel vlog.
On my 4th day in Japan, I visited Kyoto which became my favorite city out of all the cities I came to in Japan. The old city vibe is just amazing!
This was my 2nd time visiting Kyoto, but my first visit was when I was around 10 years old (barely remember anything), so this time is extra special.
After renting yukata (just so I can blend well with the old city atmosphere LOL), we did temple and shrine hopping around Kiyomizu Dera and Fushimi Inari (must visit!), and also did some food hunting in Nishiki Market.

Kimono in Kyoto - Japan Trip (Part 6)
Finishing the last full day in Kyoto, we stumble upon a shop that allows you to rent kimono to walk around Kyoto. So we take advantage, and Tory wears a kimono around for a few photos before back and onward to Kiyomizu-dera.
Later we find some food down Ponto-cho and end up looking around Kyoto Station and it's Christmas decorations. A long day! Please enjoy.
