Kyoto National Museum
One of four national museums across the country, the Kyoto National Museum focuses on traditional Japanese art. It features both, exhibitions from its permanent collection and various temporary special exhibitions. Special exhibitions are shown in the museum's brick building from the Meiji Period, while the permanent collection is housed in a modern building newly opened in September 2014.

Hours: 9:30 to 17:00 (permanent collection), 9:30 to 18:00 (special exhibitions)
Admission ends 30 minutes before closing time.
Closed: Mondays (or following day if Monday is a national holiday)

京都伝統産業 ふれあい館（Kyoto Museum of Traditionl Crafts）
京都らしい情緒あふれる町家風の入口と坪庭で皆様をお出迎えします。プロローグを過ぎるとその向こうには伝統工芸の世界が広がります。
京の歴史と技を伝える伝統的工芸品73品目約500点を一堂に集め、体系的に紹介する国内でも有数の展示場です。
各コーナーには実際の作品だけでなく、製作工程をわかりやすく解説したパネルや映像資料もあり、多種多様な伝統工芸の美と技の世界を身近に感じていただけます。
また、展示作品の中にはお買い求めいただくことのできるものもございますので、お気に召した作品がございましたらお気軽に係のものまでお問い合わせください。

Japan Trip: from Ties to Kimono, Nishijin Textile Center, Kyoto 113 Moopon
Visitors interested in Kyoto’s traditional textiles may be interested in visiting the Nishijin Textile Center. The center is located in a modern-style building where visitors can view demonstrations and exhibits featuring Nishijin textile industry as well as historical material. There are hand-weaving demonstrations as well as six kimono shows daily. For a nominal fee, visitors are allowed to dress up as a maiko, geiko in a junihitoe (12 layered kimono).
There is a large shopping area where visitors can explore through the beauty of the gorgeous Nishijin textiles.

- Le Bâtiment principal en style néo-Renaissance à la français du Musée national de Kyôto a été conçu par Tôkuma KATAYAMA (1854-1917). La construction a duré trois ans et s'est achevée en 1895. Le Musée a finalement été ouvert au public en mai 1897. Le bâtiment a été classé comme «Bien culturel important du Japon» depuis 1969.
- Das Hauptgebäude im französischen Neo-Renaissance-Stil des Nationalmuseums Kyōto wurde von Tōkuma KATAYAMA (1854-1917) entworfen. Der Bau dauerte drei Jahre und wurde im Jahr 1895 fertig gestellt. Das Museum wurde schließlich im Mai 1897 für die Öffentlichkeit eröffnet. Das Gebäude wurde seit 1969 als ein „wichtiges Kulturgut Japans klassifiziert.
- Kyoto National Museum's Main Building in French Neo-Renaissance style was designed by Tōkuma KATAYAMA (1854-1917). The construction took three years and was finished in 1895. 佛蘭西ネオ・ルネサンス樣式の京都國立博物館本館は片山東熊（嘉永六年生、大正六年歿）の設計に拠つてゐる。建築には三年を要し明治拾八年に完成したが、一般公開は明治廿年のことである。近代日本に於る最初期の博物館建築として貴重であるゆゑ昭和四十四年以來、日本國の重要文化財に登錄されてゐる。

I was lucky enough to go to the event held every sunday at Miyako Messe in Kyoto. I could see two Miyagawacho Maiko danse on stage for free. It was really amazing, I recommend this to anyone who loves Japanese traditional arts as much as I do !
